| I'm on the verge of shaving!!!!!!! this hair on the back half of her is driving me NUTS. I have tried different shampoo's...oil treatments,....finishing sprays....you name it. I'm so frustrated with it. it is like the back half of her is a poodle. it is curly, coarse, and just always looks horrible!!!!!! the front half of her is silky smooth, lays down GREAT and has no issues. but the back half is making me NUTS. I can't seem to get a good picture...but let me see if i can find one that you can somewhat see it. any advice? i keep thinking that as it gets longer it will lay down better but it just doesn't. and i think it is getting worse and worse. there are days where i think i should just clip her hair short and let it be. but i sooooo badly want her in full coat!!!

| I am right with you. I have let My Jewels hair grow out since she was 3 mos old. I went on vacation and came back and she was all matted up. Now I am going to have to shave her. I am so sad

| Maybe the groomer could just cut the back shorter, and blend it in with the front so it's not so wavy.

I am scared to death of taking her to a groomer. i don't want them whacking all her hair off. I can do that myself LOL

| Have you tried thinning shears on her? That might help it out some.

| Try using kids detangler from Lorial. It works great on my long hair yorkie. Her rearend hair gets matted because if it wavy. I know that it really helped me. Good luck getting her hair long. I think that once it is longer it gets easier but it is hard to get there. P.S. I love the straitening iron idea. I have thought about that, but have never done it. I would use a hair portector that I use for my own hair though. Don't want anymore breakage then she already causes herself. Such a tomboy sometimes. LOL

| With her clothes on, you can't ever tell the back is curly in the pictures. If she wears clothes a lot, I'd just let it grow...the clothes will cover up the curly back

some have said that she probably has part silky, part cotton coat. is it best for me to just keep her short?

| Tink's back half is that way. (She has a poodle parent and a yorkie parent) I use Cowboy Magic on her and it works like a charm. It takes a little bit of time after her bath to work it in to her dry hair with my fingers and then I comb through it. But it really helps alot. No more mats, and it doesn't get the tight curls in it that you can't comb through. It stays nice and soft and I can comb it every day. |

| Are you talking about the hair close to her butt? Jake's is like that. His hair is silky, but the back near his butt is wavy. As his hair gets longer, the weight of it pulls so it doesn't look so wavy. We cut it shorter for summer, and the waves were back.
