| Bows in Hair Hi. I have two Yorkie ladies and I want to put their hair up in an elastic and bow. They're 8 myths old and won't even keep elastic band in hair. Do they get better as they get older? Should I be persistent and keep putting elasticity in? What if they swallow the bands? |

| Just use the small, lightweight rubber bands in the beginning. Make sure the hair isn't pulled too tight & that you haven't pulled any skin up into the band. When you're wrapping the band be sure to wrap it very tightly around the hair so it'll stay in all day. (The bands are all different, of course, but I wrap mine maybe 5-8 times around the hair. Some days I'll stop just one wrap too early & sure enough, the hair starts coming out.) Be sure to take it out before bed & scratch their little heads-they'll love you for that, too! I bet they get used to it & start loving the attention they get when you do their hair. Then start putting the lightweight barrette or clip in. Have fun & enjoy your puppies!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hello neighbor and welcome to YT. I love in Goshen, NY. Galen never liked his hair up. But you have to be persistent. Everyday I would put it in. I would tell him top knot. And I would put it up. It was not easy and sometimes I would do it 4 times a day. But they do get used to it. I did go to Walmart and go to the children's area. I bought the tiny cloth elastic bands. They work great and they are easier to put in and take out then the elastics while you are training them. They are a big lifesaver. Here is what they look like. Walmart also has their brand I got like 80 of them for $2.50. Good luck Goody: Hair Elastics Mini/Cloth/Multi Color,: Hair Care : Walmart.com
