| ![]() And Maxi got his Rabies shot. We have to go back next week for his final booster shot and then thats it! Maxi is a little sluggish this morning but I think its from the shot. At least I got him to eat a little, which I was happy about. The vet recommended that I start him on frontline and also this heartguard chew tablets .. they are prescription only so I was hesitant to purchase them. I wanted to check with all these experienced mommies on her first! ![]() Thanks!

| ![]() booster shot for rabies? that's weird; i dont remember ava having another shot until the following year; also i asked the vet to giver her the rabies shot that is good for 3 years so i wont have to give it to her every year. i did give her the flee and worm preventative for a while; but then after reading about the harmfull chemicals in them; i decided to switch to something more natural for the flee; i use the halo shampoo and the herbal dip; they contain tree oil which is flee repelant; for worms i dont give anything really as long as i know what she's eating and she's always indoor, she hasn't really needed it. plus the vet always deworms her every 6 months so that's enough to do it.

| ![]() We use Interceptor and Advantix as prescribed by the vet and Milo does not seem to have any adverse reactions to either medication. |

| ![]() i found out that's it's really up to us to make the decision to keep buying and giving these medicaitons monthly to our babies; i figured as long as my dog is not eating raw meat and not spending most of the time outside; there is no need of putting her body in stress; remember these are medications and the kidney and liver has to process them; meaning they go in the blood; not just superficial. this whole thing is really a muti billion contract between vets and pharmaceutical companies to keep selling these unecessary medications. i understand a person might need them for a german shepard or rotweiler; but for a tiny yorkie; i think not. anyway when you have time do more research about the flee medications, which is an insecticide and if licked or ingested it could be fatal. thanks for letting me express my opinion. ![]()

| ![]() since she had most of her vaccines; i take her once or twice a week for a walk in the park; i don't worry since i use the halo herbal shampoo and the herbal dip which contain tea tree oil and some other stuff that detter the mosquitos, ticks, flees..... she hasn't had anything bite her yet. and i feel good since i am not using anything harmfull on her. she only eats the halo and sometimes the boiled chicken which i cook for her; she gets tested for heartworm and parasites; and so far so good; she does get the dewormer from the vet every 6 months; so that makes feel better, knowing that she's getting some type of preventative. i really dont think there is a need to use the pestecide on the little baby; i mean if this stuff is harmfull for humans, doesn't that mean it's harmfull for dogs too. do some research on pestesides since that's the ingredient in the flea control medication. i am always reading ingredients because i work in a pharmaceutical field and i know how harmfull chemicals can do; read up on the ingredients in the heartworm pill and flea control medication (which are carcinogen- can cause cancer in the long run) Ivermectin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Imidacloprid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
