				 | Now I just got here in DC for a conference. I didn't have a problem with Delta after showing them the letters. So thanks for all your support.

				 | For future reference; no one is legally allowed to ask you what your service dog does for you, nor are they legally allowed to ask you the name of your disability. If someone does ask you, inform them that they are not legally allowed to do so, and they can expect to hear from your attorney if they push it. Sheila |

So far, no one has asked me...but I am older, so perhaps no one thinks to question me. I have traveled to Cleveland Clinic many times and people are in and out with their service animals and I have yet to see, anyone, stop them, and ask them. Most airline personnel and hospital/clinic personnel are well educated in this regard, and if they are not, they need to be; as more and more of us are dependant on our service animals. | |

				 | ADA Business Brief: Service Animals Businesses may ask if an animal is a service animal or ask what tasks the animal has been trained to perform, but cannot require special ID cards for the animal or ask about the person's disability.

				 | I felt a bit stupid to worry so much.... As soon as we got to the airport on the way there and back!! It was so easy!!! I had Haruka on my lap! Thanks to the vest Haruka stayed in the bag most of the time during the conference.. I wasn't ready for too many questions.... she did very good!!! I walked her every break... outside..

				 | Glad to hear things went well. I just flew, and I saw a Bull Mastiff as a service dog going on a Delta flight.

				 | I called American Airline... they had a lot of questions too!!! So I have to travel to Chicago to drop Haruka at Patti's house for a little over week because I have to travel to Japan and it was too late for quarantine. Anyway.. we called Airline to let them know about Haruka as a service dog. They give me such a hard time. I told them that I didn't have to answer all the questions and I have her vest, she is trained, and I have a doctor's prescription. I told him that I had a health issue so that doctor wrote a note for me to have Haruka for my emotional and physical well-being. Then he keeps saying that if you have a letter, it has to say that you have a mental health disability and the doctors are treating you for that.. blah blah blah.. They don't seem to get it... I said that she is trained to support me with my health issue and also emotional well-being.. and he goes "does she have a budge?" so I responded to him that I have a vest and I trained her. Then of course... questions go on and on and on.... At the end, he asked me if I had any questions, so I said "I wish this conversation was much shorter." I told him that I just flew with Delta with no problem.. .. Anyway I hope things go okay. My flight is this Friday.

				 | wow, i am sorry to hear that you had to waste so much of your time talking to stupid people. does anyone know why they have all these endless questions regarding service dogs? what is the big deal? i really don't understand it? i talked to a friend who traveled with her dog on the air plan recently. she said that she didn't even buy a ticket for her dog. she just sneaked the dog into the air plan, and no one even knew, and once on the air plan, no one questioned her about it. (her dog was not a service dog) maybe next time you just sneak your baby on the air plan? she said that the only time they would check is at the boarding gate. so as long as you can get pass those people. you are fine. again, i really don't understand what the big deal is and why they need all this information from you? What the heck is it to them why you need to have your service dogs with you!?!? i wish i could bring milu with me everywhere i go. but i can't! because people think dogs are second class citizen or something! i hate being away from her for any length of time, and i tried looking into making her a service dog, but i don't have any disabilities...is there anyway that she can go with me everywhere? besides being a service dog? i would REALLY like to know if anyone has any info on this. thanks!!! |
