| That is great news from the huge amount of swelling you had. I'm so relieved for you. Watch out for traumatic arthritis and follow-up w/your ortho if there's trouble down the road. And that's right - just tote it up to an excellent pedigree, reputable breeding and good genetics, girl!!! ![]() ![]()

| GFY - let an AAOS fellow check you out now and f/up with him in the future if you began to have some aching or swelling in the knee a year or more from now, perhaps indicating a traumatic arthritis is setting up or becoming inflamed. Probably won't happen but just in case.......

Sheila & I are so happy that you do not need surgery! I have bad knees, too. They were so bad, at one point, they actually made squishing sounds as I walked up the stairs. And they hurt like the devil. But Sheila's DO recommended that I take Glucosamine Chondroitin, and after 6-8 months, believe it or not, they stopped hurting. But you must continue it your entire life. Rich | |

| Thanks the swelling has gone down a lot and the bruising from the broken blood vessels is going away as well. I have quite the colorful leg.

| I'll bet you do!!! That was one nasty looking knee and I can only imagine how purple it looks now. Are the pain and soreness better? When can you bear weight on it?

| I am off the crutches/cane now and can weight bear but I can't really bend it much, I think I am a little afraid to honestly. I went to the cafeteria yesterday for the first time because I was really freaked out by the thought of going in but knew I had to. I went in and got lunch but couldn't walk down the aisle where I slipped yet so I went out the in door LOL.
