I saw the surgeon yesterday who said protocol with all lumpectomy procedures means automatic radiation afterward no matter the disease stage so I set up a lumpectomy for 3/6/14 and have a needle placement at one site, travel about 5 miles to the surgery center and have the procedure and then home the same day.

They sent me on to the surgery center where I spent virtually the rest of the day having an interview, pre-surgical testing and finally home after 5:00 p.m. On the way home, I had grocery shopping to do and stopped and got only the basics, got home, greeted and let Tibbe out to potty, got a shower and lay down on the couch under the heated throw to rest. I must have gone almost immediately to sleep because the next thing I know it's 1:44 a.m. and Tibbe is frantically going in circles he needed to potty so badly. Went right back to sleep as soon as we got back in and slept until about 7:45 a.m. this morning.

Sorry I didn't respond before now but have been talking to family and friends and trying to arrange things this morning.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts and checking in on me. It means so much to me.

Jeanie, my Mom went and still going through the same thing. I am sending you lots and lots of good thoughts and blessings that everything goes well. We also send lots of hugs and puppy kisses to you and Tibbe from Galen and I.

I am glad that you doing Ok. I guess I was wrong, I thought you were having the surgery yesterday. Yes there is a lot of paper work and pre surgical testing, blood work and other things to do.
Radiation won't be so bad. It just tires you out. I will continue prayers for you.

Jeanie, I am glad to see your update. Don't apologize for not posting! You had a very big day and I can imagine how exhausted you were. Glad you getting everything set up, and that you have friends and family in the area to help you.

I hope the love and support of this community helps to give you strength and comfort. We love you, Jeanie.

I had to go to a doctor's appointment with my husband after work, and I was particularly tired. I knew you'd be exhausted last night, but I was so hoping you weren't discouraged by your appointment. I fell asleep, too, without realizing. I was on the floor in the hall playing with Katie, and I don't know if it was long because my husband must have fallen asleep, too. I think my back does better when I fall asleep in bed rather than the floor.

I'm so grateful for those thoughts and blessings and just feel all will go well as the surgeon and facility are excellent. Tibbe sends Galen a "hey, there" and tail wag and I send you hugs and love back, Teri.

I'm fine and stronger than I thought I'd be so I've so many to thank for that for propping me up! Wow, was not prepared to be there virtually all the rest of the day but the "interview" process where they ask you every question in the book took an hour or so! Then the testing. Those prayers are going to be appreciated more every day, Vicki. Bless you!

Thank you so very much for the prayers and thoughts and hugs, Melanie. They have kept me going and will help get me through in fine shape. Tibbe still loves his blankets you made so much!

Never been so spent before. Guess emotions played into it and stress and all. All my close family are scattered to the winds this year but I'm making it with phone calls and pictures from them. YT praying and thinking of me has helped more than I'd ever have imagined but I feel a kinship with all you all here as we are all so nutty over dogs!
