How Many Others Have Had a Positive Biopsy? Asking For Your Prayers. The biopsy was positive and I'll have to have surgery but supposedly it's contained and somehow the pathologist can tell it hasn't metatastasized, which is good news! They've made me an appointment to see the surgeon next Wednesday morning and get this thing out soon and if there are lots of calcifications through-out the area, potentially a mastectomy; if not, just this area will be excised. Then there will or won't be radiation therapy. I'm a bit numb right now. Encouragement and prayers will be so very much appreciated. Once again I have to tell that special YT member who's been PM'ing me daily since I learned I'd need the biopsy and supporting, commiserating with, preparing me and praying for me for the true lifeline she's been. What an amazing place YorkieTalk is and what amazing people are members here! I had no idea when I joined YT what it would turn out to mean to me. |
You're always in my thoughts and prayers, praying for a successful, minimal surgery and speedy recovery! |
Thoughts and prayers be with you as you face this difficult time in your life! Staying positive, is the key! I am sure you are scared out of your mind. Surround yourself with family and friends who will support you with positive thoughts and prayers. Cancer can be beat! I know because I have lots of family and people who have beat the odds! Stay strong and kick the big "C" into the next world! |
Jeanie, I am very sorry that the results were positive, but happy that it is contained. It is very good that you and your doctors caught it early and are on top of taking care of it. You are a very special member of YT. Know that you are surrounded by support, love, and best wishes here. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. |
Jeanie I am sorry to read that the results on the biopsy were positive. Sending love, prayers, and best wishes to you. The YT prayer circle will surround you with love and support. :hands: x :hands: x :hands: :hands: Jeanie :hands: :hands: x :hands: x :hands: |
Jeanie you aren't alone in this, we are all here with you. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Good news is they think it is contained and hasn't metastisized. |
I'm so sorry to hear this. How scary this must be for you and your family. It sound like things have been caught early and surely that must mean a very good prognosis for you. |
I am praying for you Jeannie |
So they're doing a lumpectomy? Make sure they have clean margins before stitching you back up. Ask for it while your there in surgery. It can keep you from having to have another surgery later. Are they taking lymph nodes? You need to also know if what the remove is ERP, PRP, HER2, triple negative. Your dr will know what these things are (basically is it estrogen fed, progesterone fed, etc. what's making this grow??), and these answers also determine any treatments if needed. Do you mind me asking what hospital you'll be at?? I will gladly come sit and wait with you.... I don't mind at all. I've been exactly where you are numerous times, and I know just having someone there means a lot. Please message me if you want..... P.s. Also look into BRCA testing if you can. Breast cancer puts you at higher risk for ovarian, uterine and cervical cancers. And a ca-125 series. |
Jeanie, you are in my prayers. It is a good thing it is contained. Take care of yourself. |
Keeping you in my prayers. |
A little over two years ago Robyn, my better half, was diagnosed with stage 3B cervical cancer. Less than a year of chemo and radiation later, she was cancer free. It wasn't easy but she is alive and cancer free. You can do this! |
Praying for a total removal of the cancer cells & swift recovery:hands: My mother had breast cancer in 1982. They did a mastectomy, determined it had not spread to the lymph nodes & she never had any radiation or chemo. She is still cancer free today at age 71. It sounds like you have an early diagnosis & that is wonderful. |
Oh Jeanie....love and prayers and positive thoughts winging their way to you from across the ocean....thinking of you xxx :heart to |
Jeanie, I am praying for your healing and a return to good healthy, and for you to have strength to forge ahead. |
Jeanie, prayers and hugs! |
Jeanie, I am so sorry you are going through this. I'm glad this was caught early and is being dealt with straight away. Positive energy and healing wishes are being sent to you and will continue to be sent to you each and every day from across the Atlantic sea. Give little Tibbe a hug and let him take care of you in own own way and believe that between all the prayers, well wishes and support from everyone at YT, as well as your own family and friends, that you will get through this! |
Jeanie, I am so sorry to hear this but so glad it is contained which is so important. You are such an important part of Yorkie Talk like someone else said and there for everyone, let us be there for you. I didn't know that you had gone in for the biopsy but so glad you went soon enough to make this so much less than what it could have been. Prayers coming and just wish I could give you a big hug, consider it given. Joan |

Yes make sure they do all of what Michele say's. I myself had Breast Cancer. I was stage 3A, I was ER-,PR- but I was HER2 +. I had a double mastectomy and I had 6 months of chemo, and then I had to have a year of the Herceptin treatments due to being HER2+. I also had 6 weeks of Radiation. Sending out prayers for you. |
[SIZE="3"]Opps also forgot to add, make they sure they also do the Bone Scans the Chest and AB CT Scan as well. Most Onc's at this point won't do a PET Scan. I myself am fixing to have a PET Scan once again. |
Jeannie, you are in our thoughts and prayers. My younger sister had a mastectomy at 42. Chemo and radiation, breast implants (yes, implants as she decided as long as she was having it done she wanted bigger). She is now 16 yrs cancer free, enjoying her children and grandchildren. |
How scary for you! I am keeping you in my thoughts and sending prayers. |
Jeanie, you're so precious to so many of us here at YT, so it breaks my heart to hear that you're going through this health issue. I'm sending lots of love, good thoughts, and hopes for the VERY BEST outcome! We will all be pulling for you with everything we've got !!! If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here for you, even if you just need/want to vent. {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} |
Jeanie as others have said, I'm glad it's contained. I have no words of wisdom for you but want you to know I'm here too if you ever feel the need to chat. :love-hug3 |

I have had a total hysterectomy years ago so they aren't too much concerned about the other areas. But I might look into BRCA depending it's costs and whether of not the surgeon recommends it. She is at the Sammons Cancer Center on the Baylor Dallas campus and did a lumpectomy on a good friend of mine back in 2003 I think it was. I have seen here for a fullness my PCP found in a breast one year that turned out to be nothing. I imagine I'll have the surgery at Baylor Hospital on Gaston or one of the surgery centers affiliated with them. I imagine a lumpectomy is an out-patient procedure, isn't it? Today it seems they cut and send you home! Your offer to come and sit up with me is just about the sweetest thing I've ever heard. I so appreciate it. Might just weaken and take you up on it but we'll see if I have to stay the night or what after my Wednesday doctor's appointment. Trying to stay courageous and strong. You few ladies who have been there will be my lifeline to how to make it through all of this. |
