Sheila & I are very glad that stories like hers, keep you positive & feeling braver. Yes, it was awful, our son was just a baby, and Sheila was so afraid, she might leave him without a Mother, but Our Lord was merciful. We're very grateful for your prayers, but Sheila has asked me, that we focus our prayers on you now. The power of prayer is amazing! So, you are on the top of our prayer list. Rich |

Jeannie, If you want the second opinion, get it. A few days will not hurt. Cancer isn't going to take over your body in a matter of 7-10 days. I encourage the second opinion, and it will ease your mind. But sammons is one of the best cancer centers there is on Texas (second to MD Anderson) and it's a great place to have your surgery. Lumpectomy are often a day surgery, but you'll be there most of the day. I was going to suggest talking to TXVicki. She helped me a lot when I first got my diagnosis and had my surgery. Ask your dr about the superglue if they have to do a mastectomy- I was able to have my drains out in a matter of days versus weeks, because of the glue they used to "stitch" me up |

Yes, it was an awful time in our lives. Sheila's doctors were wonderful. They let me bring our son up to her room, after her surgey. Sheila has had a few "questionable" mammograms, since, but then the doctors order a digital, and she's ok. We always Thank God! Yes, we have grown stronger through all of her health problems. And we both understand, when someone else is facing it. Sheila sends you her love and prayers and a big hug. And we both continue to keep you at the top of our prayer list. We have a special prayer, we pray to Our Lady of Lourdes. And we pray that prayer for you each night, and we will continue, until you post that you are cancer-free, and we will continue to pray that you remain cancer-free. Sincerely, Rich |
You are such a beloved member here on YT, and I consider myself very blessed to count you as ones of my friends. My heart softens when I think of you or see your name here on YT. If you need to talk any time of day or night, just let me know, and I will be there for you through the miles. You are going to get better because you have so many people who love you and are praying for you, and you have all of Tibbe's games and dog laughs to keep you going. We need and love you, Jeanie. |

I just had a portacath implanted and the surgeon used the super glue. Amazing stuff. You will be at the hospital most of the day but you will be sleeping so it isn't so bad. |
