| Jason....since this is the weekend, you may have better luck calling Akron General and tell them you need to speak to someone that can give you direction on how to get your mother transferred from where you are now, to Akron General. Tell them you have been told your mother has had strokes, she has a clot in her brain, and you want her moved to Akron, but you do not know how to do this. See what direction or help they give you. (Is you momma in a room now? Is she up and around? Does she have any symptoms from these strokes she has had...like weakness in arms or legs, speech slurred, etc? How far are you from Akron General? If all else fails, and she is able to sit upright in a car, it may become necessary for you to have her discharged to you, and you take her to Akron, to the emergency room, for admission. You do not want to take her out "AMA"....against medical advise.....unless absolutely necessary for her survival.) |

| ♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | So sorry it is so hard because do many doctors say different things. But I have to agree you may need to take things into your own hands. If she can not be given medications to help her quickly through IV's if they need to has to scare both of you. You are at there mercy a little and don't want to move her yourself if it could be life threatening. I would take the advice given and call the other hospital or emergency room and maybe they can make things happen Again she is so lucky to have such a caring son. Hang in there Sending more prayers

| Sunday morning: Jason, thinking of your mother and you this morning. Praying for Carla that she is getting the care she needs. Jason, I know how hard this is to be in your position, and I know you want the best for your mom. I pray the hospital and staff will have more answers for you today.

| Just checking in Jason and hoping you are getting to your mom to a place where they can get some blood using a central vein or even an old venous cutdown, get some values and also do the tests and things that should not be pending - and should have been done that first night. Anyway, I was hoping Yorkiemom1 could help you with advice and thank God for her, she has. Please follow her directions and get your mom to a fine hospital with an excellent stroke program and she should do fine. No hospital is ever perfect but they are far better than you have been describing!!!

| Good afternoon to everyone, this is Jason. My Mother is still in ICU but she's more coherent/calmer than she's been in the few days. I received a call back from the Neurologist's answering service, they said since my Mother's not an existing patient to call back to speak to him Monday! I'm trying to stay calm but it's hard knowing they're not prepared to help her! She's not able to walk on her own right now, she's been very disoriented and dizzy. She wants me to try and keep things calm right now and wait to have the test done tomorrow (Echocardiogram) to see if the clot is in her heart or her brain. Oh yeah, I said I hope she doesn't need an IV for that test, they said yes they will send in a Rapid Response Team to get a vein. I will try and update again tomorrow after the Test. Thank you, Jason |

| All they need is to take her to an ER op room and insert a CVP line for goodness sake to get blood and give her what she needs after that. Then they should be able to get her veins up and using them for IV's, meds! And she needs tests, Dopplers now, possibly angiography - not when she is in distress!!!

| Last year I had an emergency, drove myself to a local ER just for a checkup, had a CT scan and was admitted. The next morning a female doc said I needed a colostomy!!! My son wanted to call an ambulance to take me to another hospital but as I was stable in my condition, I checked myself out of there AMA(against medical advice) even though the nurses actually quite unprofessionally/unethhicall told me if I did my insurance would not pay for the second admission or further treatment, and Danny drove me to Baylor Dallas, where I had a second CT and was admitted thru the ER. 10 days later, I was discharged and needed no colostomy! My insurance called it the same as a transfer from one hospital to the other as I was admitted to a second hospital that same day for the same diagnosis and they paid in full. I was SO glad I made the change and so grateful I didn't have that horrible, unnecessary surgery. The difference in hospital care in the same city can be staggering!
