| He got the results. When I started this thread he was going into his first brain surgery, the resulrs of which said it was a benign stage 2 tumor. Now after his second surgery the results are that it is now a high grade stage 3 anaplastic astrocytoma. The good news is that this cancer does not spread to other parts of the body. The bad news is that they gave him 18 months survival rate, with treatment. He is starting chemo on a drug called Temodar. I am terrified for him amd his wife, they are very young, not even 30, havent had kids yet...they're taking the appeoach that no one is allowed to say the "C" word in the house and that they are going to kick its butt. They dont want to scare our family and friends but we are all terrified. Please yall, pray for Charles and Allison, and their families. They are very close family friends of mine.

Having cancer and beating it has changed her life and she has show all of us that even with brain cancer life does go on. Moral of the story, stay strong and stay positive and like my sister always says it's only a number. Plus she always says . . "F that 18 month , I'm still here aren't I " I don't mean to highjack your thread but I just wanted to give you some hope and also share my sisters story and her photo..... She really is a true survivor in many ways and I love her so much.

| Dawn, thank you so much for sharing your sisters story, it is what I needed to hear. Very encouraging and inspiring. She is very brave. I am so happy she is in her third year of being cancer free. Charles is absolutely the #1 most positive person I know. I think attitude makes a huge difference and they both have a great one. I don't know how they do it. The scariest part was seeing him break down and cry when he found out it is cancer. He seemed defeated, but thank God for his family. His wife has been amazing helping him regain the use of his fingers after developing paralysis post-op, dealing with all the insurance stuff, and staying positive around him. If anyone can beat cancer, its this guy. Really. He put a pic on Facebook today of him wearing a shirt that says "F%CK Cancer!". Excuse the language, but I think its good. He is determined to beat this. We all really appreciate the encouragement. I texted him and his mama the URL to this thread so he can see how people are praying for him. He said every single night when he is laying in bed he gets on and reads the tweets and comments people leave him to help him be at peace and it really touches his heart. So thank you everyone who left a comment for Charles.

| 2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | He sounds like a wonderful young man . . and it good to see that he has a great support system backing him in his fight !!! When dealing with the brain the possibility of paralysis was one of our greatest fears but hell when your given an 18 month survival rate paralysis is nothing compared to the worst case scenario. Yes, ones attitude does have a great effect on the way they see life, living with cancer and overcoming it. Staying positive and surrounding yourself with people to support you is very much needed if anyone is going to get through the ups and downs of dealing with cancer. Keeping your friend in my prayer !
