Sending prayers your way |
Thanks so much. It helps to come hear and see all the well wishes and prayers. Ken had the bone scan today and we had 3 hours to wait between the injection and the test. We went down to the Evanston lake front (I grew up in Evanston) and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was comforting to be there where I spent so much of my childhood. Brought back many memories of my Mom and Dad taking us there. Tomorrow we see the oncologist to find out the type of lung cancer and the results of the bone scan. We are then going to get a referral for a second opinion at a larger hospital. Your prayers are so needed and appreciated. |
Praying for you guys every night!!! Sending love and prayers. |
Continued prayers for you and Ken. |
Many prayers going out for your husband, and you as well as you deal with this. |
Patti I just want you to know that I continue to keep you and Ken in my prayers. |
Thanks everyone for the pryers they are helping. The oncologist said the bone scan was clean and the biopsy showed he has metastatic non small cell squamos lung cancer. WHich is better than the small cell type. He has a brain scan and PET scan monday. The oncologist wanted to start treatment today but Ken wants to get a second opinion I am waiting for the cancer center of a big hospital to call me back to set up an appointment for a second opinion. His oncologist feels they will recommend the same treatment but we will at least be comfortable knowing that. For now he is scheduled to have his first treatment next wednesday. He will go every three weeks for 4-6 treatments and then a break and then start up again. Please keep Ken in your prayers he has a fight ahead of him. Thanks |
That's a good thing that the bone scan was clean. I learned that when my dad had cancer there were some cancers that were easier treated than others. No cancer is good, but to have a form of cancer that can be treated with possibly a better success rate is a good thing. Second opinions are always good to have. You have to do what makes you feel better about his health and the treatment he opts for. Yes, he has a long road ahead of him. I will continue to keep him in my prayers over the next few months. May God give him strength to fight this. |
SO glad for a mostly good update!!! Still praying for you guys! |
Patti, thanks for the update. You and Ken are in my prayers always, and I wish him all the best for a successful treatment. This is probably the hardest thing you've ever had to face in your life together, so try to stay strong and positive, and hang on to every blessed moment you have together. No matter what anybody tells you, stay focused on "we are going for the cure". Think it, say it, visualize it, pray for it, and believe it..... and all your YT friends here will be backing you up doing the same. |
