| The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | Thank you for your prayers for my dad. He had his surgery this morning and the doctors took 5 hours to remove only the tumor on his liver. The doctor told my mother that the part they took out will probably regrow. They yet need to address my father's hemocromotosis (too much iron in the blood), this has also damaged part of his liver. He is back in his room on a morophine drip due to the pain involved in this type of surgery. The soonest he can go home is in 5 days. So I'm hoping that everything is goes well for him.

| The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | Just an update. Dad had a rough night with the pain. It took the nurses and doctors a while before they got the morphine drip and other pain meds right. He's still under intense supervision to ensure that his liver doesn't bleed. This supervision will continue for th enext 36 hours. He is pretty much out of it for now. I had a problem trying to get a hold of my son yesterday. The disadvantage of being in the Air Force. He was somewhere where he couldn't use his cell phone. He finally called at about 11:30 pm all frantic wanting to know what was going on. I was able to calm him down and let him know what was going on. The doctor did tell me mother that they need to start actively treating Dad's hemochromotosis because it is causing liver damage. So I guess Dad will have to start getting blood drawn once or twice a week. This blood will then be destroyed since it is full of iron. Such fun!

| The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | My dad's surgery is complete. He had the 4x6 tumor removed and the doctors believe that they have gotten it all. He went home on Wednesday and needs to take it easy. He'll have numerous doctoro appointments over the next few months to make sure that all of the cancer has gone. The hemotologist will be working with him to help control his hemochromotosis (too much iron in the blood). He also cannot drink alcohol - bummer for him! Thanks for all your prayers.
