Just an update. Dad had a rough night with the pain. It took the nurses and doctors a while before they got the morphine drip and other pain meds right. He's still under intense supervision to ensure that his liver doesn't bleed. This supervision will continue for th enext 36 hours. He is pretty much out of it for now.

I had a problem trying to get a hold of my son yesterday. The disadvantage of being in the Air Force. He was somewhere where he couldn't use his cell phone. He finally called at about 11:30 pm all frantic wanting to know what was going on. I was able to calm him down and let him know what was going on.

The doctor did tell me mother that they need to start actively treating Dad's hemochromotosis because it is causing liver damage. So I guess Dad will have to start getting blood drawn once or twice a week. This blood will then be destroyed since it is full of iron. Such fun!
