Help Me With Potty Training!!!!!! My new little yorkie is 15 weeks old and he WILL NOT potty train. I have tried pee pads, crate training, outside, litter pan...etc I will take him outside as soon as he wakes up and he will pee a little. We will walk around the yard 20 or 30 minutes and he goes to the door. We go in and within 5 minutes he poops on the floor never the same spot. He will also pee whenever he wants on the floor or carpet. WHAT DO I DO????? He will also pee on his towel inside his crate and then lay in it which I was told they would not do. HELP!!!!!!!!!

don't despair . . .it could only get better. The thing is you probably just got him and therefore you will have to give it sometime. What is important is finding a way that works for you, depending on your schedule, and not for the dog. Afterall, this is only a temporary thing if you are consistent with whatever method you decide to do. Oh, and welcome to YT

Consistency is KEY!! We have litter trained our little guy, because then he can go whenever he feels the urge, and it has been beautiful. You have to keep a ever vigulant eye, on him at all times. But with time and patience it works great. Good luck and I hope out or in yard or litter box or potty pads it all works out in the end

Peeing in crate I'm so glad to hear that other yorkies pee in their crate. I thought maybe something was wrong with mine. I even bought a very small crate and put his food in their but he still pees in it. I guess I will have to try to take his blanket out of the crate. That seems so cruel though as won't he get cold? And how comfortable could it be sleeping on a cold plastic crate. I only crate him at night and as soon as I got the smaller crate he did stop pooping in it. Maybe he is to little to hold his pee during the night.

We put the divider up in our crate so that he just barely has enough room to turn around and that is all. This stopped him from going in his crate. Rocky has not had an accident for quite some time now. his crate is bigger and once he has the run of the house and is fully trained then I will remove the divider.

Lilly Belle was 5mos when I got her, she wasnt potty trained, and I didnt get her completely trained until about 8mos. She rings a bell that I have hung on the back door to go out. It was a constant, ring the bell, say you want to go out?, Go out, say "go potty", come back, get a tiny treat! I took her out about every couple hours or so. (teaching the bell ringing was a little more detailed) When we are not home, we put up a gate to keep her in the kitchen. I didnt read a book or anything about potty training...this is just what worked for us. I think time-patience-consistancy is the key...it will happen for you.
