| ![]() From what I recall, Admin felt it was more important to help Yorkies find a forever home more so than post count/donating in the "Yorkies For Sale" section. (This was before the "Featured" section came to be.) As far as Featured Yorkies/products, there should be more structured guidelines. I am all for prove yourself on YT first, and then become a "Featured" seller of Yorkies, or product. Now, as far as the other "For sale" threads go, yes this is a free forum, and in some instances people have made it a free forum for advertising, I do not see the benefit for YT to allow this to continue. I for one will not buy from a non-donating member period, that is my personal preference, nor will I buy from someone with minimal post count. I strongly believe if you want to sell your wares on this forum you need to be part of the community first, and a seller second.

I don't understand why a breeder would get upset because someone asked a question or was interested in more or was confused and asked for clarification...regardless to if that person was considering buying a pup or not. Unless they have something to hide or feel guilty about what they are doing for some reason. What if someone the likes of Jeff Dane with a similar practice came and posted for sale? Should everyone just sit back and leave it up to him to tell and answer only what he wants to? What about a broker or a miller? What kind of information would THEY be willing to divulge. There are many people who come here looking for a 1st time pet and don't know what to look for and the warning signs. I can only speak for myself, but I think it would be awful to sit back knowing there is a details that the person selling left out that would put a completely different spin on things. I would feel bad if they got the wool pulled over there eyes because the people did catch these things couldn't point them out.

Are there other standards you are being required to meet that I am overlooking? I'm just trying to make sure I have a complete understanding of the section/title. ![]()

![]() Maybe there selling pups shouldn't be allowed at all? That's a quick-fix........no more headaches for admin. That's not fair, I know. But, not allowing people to educate is not fair either. Now, why in the world would anyone waste their time on here (especially when they don't sell pups on here, and only breed for themselves) be on here? I believe it's safe to say that because they TRULY love the breed and are all about the breed. On the other hand, I can see why those that push their pups on ever other post benefit from the featured breeder's section. Everyone should be entitled to read BOTH sides of everything. No extreme is good.

Misty, you and I have already agreed to disagree so i will only say to you that I don't mind anyone at all asking me questions about my line or dogs or program or whatever. BUT, I want to be the one to answer those questions. Mary, I will use you for an example and say if someone asks me a direct question, shouldn't I be the one to answer instead of you? if it's a general question to anyone that knows the answer, then sure answer it And jesse, you make some good points too. i find it very strange that a few, well one or two of the same people that seem to post on all these threads send pm's to some of us saying, ' i'd like to ask you a question about breeding but don't want to get bashed on the board by people that think they should be the only ones breeding." Nuff said. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 04-30-2007 at 03:39 PM. |

Then let them PM you privately.....what's the deal......I have plenty of people PMing me privately for all kinds of questions. Never for questions on purchasing a dog for me, since I don't advertise and no one knows whether or not I have a litter available (which I usually don't). But, if someone did want to ask someone else about my dogs, I feel that it would be in their right to do so......they're going to do it anyway, whether you're on a featured list or not.

![]() If anyone feels uncomfortable asking a question on this forum for whatever reason, it is certainly their right to ask whomever by PM...but mentioning that (which seems to be a trend lately) seems like an effort to get people to refrain from posting. But, if memory serves me correctly....the featured breeders list was developed because a few took exception to the fact that Admin put a 10 week old limit on puppies before they could be listed on the yorkies for sale and wanted forum. I do remember there was much offense to that rule. Those that took offense wanted a Forum where that rule wouldn't be imposed.
