| The one thing I don't like about this site!! Is that i'll post in a perfectly happy thread and then I'll come back on the next day and the thread will be closed and deleted and I'll have no idea what happened or what went on. I think if you close a thread make it readable to everyone but just lock it so no one can post in it.

| It can be frustrating. If you want to know what happens, you can't have a social life or sleep!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I kind of agree - In some cases a deletion can be a good thing... but I'd rather see a lock than a thread just gone in the wind.....I guess we have to just COPE... |

| I agree! Maybe it is wrong to be curious but how can we help it? |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Cause we are NOSY ! I've noticed lately it's getting really really negative sometimes. I used to think the admin did a great job here but now it seems everyone wants to lock or delete things and pretty soon - all the personality will be missing......I kind of miss the way it used to be here. |

| Thank you for your opinions and suggestions. Threads are sometimes deleted b/c of various reasons including: thread starter request, too many rude comments to just delete one by one, or b/c the threads have gotten so off topic they are a waste of space. The difficulty with just locking threads (so they are still readable) is that some members will not let issues go and will begin various other threads about the same topic. We, as moderators, have jobs as well and though we try to do the best we can, we cannot always monitor 24/7. That is why we rely on members to report posts. |

That's what I was going to mention...just b/c a thread is deleted or locked doesn't mean someone is not going to restart another thread about the same or a similar topic . But I guess if they do and "keep it up" they'll be suspended. Okay, I just answered my own question.

Administrator | We are sorry you feel upset about this. However, threads are locked or deleted based on a variety of factors. Generally, important, pertinent threads that affect a lot of Yorkies or provide useful information will NOT be locked or deleted. The majority of deleted or locked threads are because of personal attacks, off-topic remarks, or general nastiness, which is not beneficial to YorkieTalk members as a whole. Decisions on threads are based on the best interest of YorkieTalk, and usually those kind of threads will not be allowed here. We do not like to lock or delete threads, but it is unfortunately necessary. |

| Personally I think the Admin and his/her moderators are doing an excellent job at keeping this a happy family-friendly site. |

| I agree, it is frustrating when you come back to read an interesting thread and it is either locked or deleted altogether. But I've got to hand it to admin, the ones that are locked and deleted are done so because they got out of hand. IMO, there are a ton more I see that need to be locked and done away with that are left. But we definately stay with it, especially recently. They seem to deleted alot of the rude, off-topic, and uncalled for posts (including ALOT of mine) almost as soon as they are posted. Even ALL? "inside jokes" I guess you could say, like all the ones about ice cream....sorry. I guess if you didn't delete them all, it would seem unfair and that favorites are being played so you better take them all out, right? Even if they were not directed against someone, but it is better to be safe than sorry, right? I don't know if they are doing it because people are complaining, which I am sure is the case most of the time, or if they are just that good and catching them that quick. Either way, I don't disagree with them being deleted and locked, I actually thing there are alot more that should be that are always allowed to remain. |

The rewording of a prior thread in a new thread meant to keep the flareups going should not be tolerated AT ALL. It dismays me to see that a stop has not been put to that type of behavior. Take a hint . . . if a thread is locked or deleted . . . there is a reason for it . . . move on and let it go!!!!
