The one thing I don't like about this site!!

I was a member of one of those other forums untill they started badmouthing members of this forum. No thankyou!! At least this forum is run with classs and dignity. The posts are deleted for a reason. There is nastiness and I for one thing the Admin and Mods do a great job of keeping things form getting out of hand. You dont have that in a forum with no rules.

I really think YT needed to let some of us members vent..things have been getting heated. Reading this thread feelings and solutions or suggestions are being shared maybe we can start following some of our own good advice

The situation I had with a member is a perfect example how to stop things before they start. She PMed me to apologize, we talked through the feellings we had felt and realized we misunderstood eachother and the last thing either of us wanted was to hurt the other person. It was nice to hear her say that. Now I feel even better about this member than I did before because handled me with courtesy and respect so naturally I will treat her the same, apologized too. If some members would take their issues privately you'd be surprised the ending. It feels good too!!

I want to thank Irene for being a woman about it and taking the time to talk to me and accept my apology for coming on a little strong....it was in a thread somewhere in this section.... ...Because we talked it over privately .....something that could possibly be uncomfortable will go NO further ....and I feel much better too

I too have been on forums with no rules and I want nothing to do with them. I appreciate the admin here for the job they do. I don't always agree with every decision but that is too bad for me....there is no way they are going to be able to make everyone happy 100% of the time and in the end they have to do what they feel is best for Yorkie Talk. I commend that.

Yes, there are other Yorkie sites and forums. No one is forcing you to stay at YorkieTalk. However, there are some other forums which cause us problems and we thus will not allow any Yorkie forum free publicity or discussion. There have been serious issues and problems with other Yorkie forums in the past, which is why we do not allow any links or discussions about other Yorkie forums here on YT.

As this is a community site, we want to keep the atmosphere friendly, and often times, heated threads turn into huge arguments and name-calling, which leads to suspensions and or banned users, which we try to avoid. We have tried in the past to keep hotly-debated threads open, but it never works. It always turns out ugly. So threads may be closed before that happens.

It makes YT members and YT itself look bad when someone that is a new (a new member or potential new member) is on YorkieTalk for the first time sees a bunch of name-calling and childish behavior. This is what we are trying to avoid as we want to make this as friendly and welcoming a community as possible, though undoubtedly problems will still happen at times.

Now THIS is the way to handle things...go Villette and Irene!!! I know from experience (not necesarily on YT, just in general) that if someone says or writes something to/about me that I don't think is right, I feel as though I have to stick up for myself in the same manner...whether it be written or spoken. If a person has a problem with you they should PM you, NOT publicly try to humiliate you by airing your dirty laundry for the whole YT world to see. But I can TOTALLY understand about trying to defend yourself on a thread if someone has belittled you to begin with. I try my HARDEST NOT to start any crap with anyone b/c I don't need that in my life. That's why everytime I say something that may possibly be thought of as nasty I'll put "LOL, or Not trying to be sarcastic" or something so that the readers will know I am not trying to be mean. We ALL have lots of opinions that are very different, and there is NO problem with expressing them, but we don't need to get nasty with each other. I sure wouldn't want a "clique" ganging up on me via YT, and I don't really know you people!! I don't think anyone likes to have enemies, I know I don't. But if someone doesn't like me, that's okay...you don't have to, but please don't try to make me (or anyone for that matter) look like an "a double s" because that's not nice, it hurts feelings, and it only makes the person look rude and disrespectful that things couldn't be resolved privately. So, I want to make a suggestion: let's all try to be nice to one another and express our opinions in a proper manner...and use more smileys and such so that people know that we're not trying to be mean. If everyone had the same opinions the world would be boring. I know that I love hearing everyone's opinions even if they don't match mine. That's okay, because I like to learn...but just because someone doesn't have the same opinion as you DOESN'T MAKE THEM WRONG OR A BAD PERSON. So, I will vow to be nice on YT, and if for some reason I don't like what someone says (meaning they hurt my feelings) I will PM them to state my concerns and not involve the whole YT world. Maybe I should start a new vow thread. What does everyone think? Oh, and if you don't like my idea...don't be mean to me please! Thanks!!!
