| Bypassing Moderation on New Members with medical issues? I think this was discussed in a thread at one point in time... Is there a way to bypass moderation of new members responses in order to give/get them the help they need to save the life of their dog?

| I don't understand. Are there limitations to a new member's posting privileges? Matthias |

| Yes, new members posts are moderated in order to identify spammers and such. After 15-20 posts, the new member's posts are no longer moderated automatically.

| I understand. The posts have to be checked out first(moderated and Ok'ed) before the post goes live and in so doing, precious time is being lost by that delay. Gotcha. Thanks. Matthias |

| Only a vet can save a dog in an emergency situation and not Googling YT. Anything else can wait since the moderated posts need to be moved in the control panel manually.

The frustrating thing is, these emergency posters many times never come back with an update or respond to what was suggested, so I think that many times they go from forum to forum, hoping to get an immediate response.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | There is really no way around this, unfortunately. If we had a policy of 'no moderation', this board would be littered w/ spam posts.

I've seen many 1st time dog/puppy owners come on here and not know if a situation is an emergency or not. Telling owners of pups with neurological symptoms to crate their dog and giving general special care instructions until they get to a vet, IMHO, can make a difference as to whether that pup will survive or not. Even people have been given medical advice to better their outcome while at a hospital. A member had a stroke and got on to ask for prayers. A Member nurse realized she needed better medical care and instructed the member's son in things to do to get his mom more appropriate care and found a specialist for the member. Many times members have run searches for new members to find appropriate medical care for their pets in their area, as they are too distraught or not computer savvy enough to find this info on their own. Many people don't want 'to bother' their vet with what seems to them a simple or silly question, so they ask it here. You think lives are not being saved by some of this advice? That's your opinion. My opinion is that YT does make a difference and has been helpful thousands of times over.

| I agree with Kat and at first to me this is the last place I would come but that is probably because I have been a member for a while and recognize the difference now. I thought about it and back when I first got Cedric if I had a situation I may have asked here out of no knowledge and hopes for answer so I feel it's important like Kat said that we can be able to answer and help when there is an emergency situation.

And that last paragraph? SO TRUE. We've seen "thank you" posts here that confirm just how many times a little online forum can make a HUGE difference, sometimes lifesaving!
