Thor's Human Donating Member | **Site Error** - cannot post comments to blogs Hi. I have been unable to post comments to Tobie22's blog. No matter what I write, I get an error along the lines of: "Your message is too short. Please type a message longer than five characters." To answer the obvious question, yes, I'm writing comments longer than five characters. I've had this error consistently over the past few weeks, and Tobie22 says she gets the same error when trying to post to my blog. The strange thing is that we have both posted comments to each other's blogs in the past, so this error is fairly recent. Thanks!

Administrator | Which browser were you using? That may explain it? We're not quite sure. We just did a test post to Tobie22's blog from your account and it worked fine for us. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/blo...lost-alex.html You can also try this below fix: First, log out of YorkieTalk. Then try to clear your Internet cookies and then sign in again, as the problem appears to be related with your browser. Please make sure cookies are enabled on your Internet browser settings. When you sign in, checkbox the Remember Me button. https://helpdesk.jetnet.aa.com/knowb.../aa_bb9167.htm You can also try to clear your Internet cache files. Here's how to do that: Internet Explorer 6: How and Why to Clear Your Cache We suggest members do NOT use the AOL Browser to access YorkieTalk. Internet Explorer or Firefox works much better with our site. Or you may try another Internet browser, such as Firefox (Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable) or Opera (Opera Browser | Faster & safer Internet | Free Download), both which are free. |

| I have the same problem and have done since we got the blog feature. It's a pain but if you type your message, then highlight it and copying it before submitting it, you can paste it again after the error and it should post the second time. I have no idea why that looks but I've done that for months.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I am using the latest version of Internet Explorer. I'll try these suggestions. Thanks.

To learn which editing method you use, click on "User CP" next click on "Edit Options", at the bottom of the page, you will see the words, " Message Editor Interface", it gives you three options, "Basic", "Standard", and "Enhanced Interface Full WYSIWYG editing." Which one is your set to? If it's set for "Enhanced", you might want to change it to standard, and see if you can post on the blog.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I tried logging in and out again, no success. I am using the message: "Test Message!" in plain text. I can't bear the thought of clearing all my cookies, but I'll try clearing cached files, and also try FireFox.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If I were you I would first check to see if I was using the "enhanced" mode, switch to "standard" and don't forget to "save". I don't see how clearing your cookies would help with this problem at all.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Aha! It's actually the reverse problem. If I go to Advanced mode, THEN my message posts. Standard doesn't work. Admin, I think this is the key to the problem. Also, I have user customizations turned off, not sure if that makes a difference.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Weird, I have the reverse problem, I do have user "customizations on" though, not sure if that's related.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I just tried turning customizations back on and that doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm a computer programmer, so debugging is my life. My next theory: when I try to use the "quick reply" dialog at the bottom of the blog, my post fails. HOWEVER, when I post with the full reply form that includes a title, my post succeeds. Going Advanced takes me to this form, and so does the error screen for quick posting. I wonder if it's a problem with the "quick reply" form.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Yes, I mean "Post Now". Basically my theory is that when you can put a title on your post, it should work, and when you can't, it won't work. It appears to me that two different forms are on the web page and one of them has a bug.
