| No Longer a Member | Low dosage bayer 81 is the same as baby aspirin strength...but I think those are enteric coated. I don't know if they'd break down in her stomach. |

| Thank you everyone. She is just resting now - not moving around. Her leg is still tender if I touch it. I think I will sleep on the floor with her tonight so she won't be trying to get up on the bed. She looks so cute in her pink hoodie just chilling on the couch. I know something isn't right by the look that she gives me. Does that sound crazy? There is just a certain look she gives me when something is wrong. Maybe all dogs do that. |

| Bella had a similar episode. I had to crate her for 14 days and the vet gave her Mobic an antiinflammatory. She was much better after 7 days. So far she is ok but I known yorkies are know for luxating patellas. They want to do xrays when i spay her soon. The grove that the patella (knee cap) slides in as the leg is extended or flexed is sometimes so shallow that the knee cap actually slips out of place. My vet also recommended walking Bella up hill to strengthen and tighten the joint to prevent slipping (luxating). No hills in FL but i do have a treadmill that inclines. Good luck with your pup and just force her to rest in a crate until the vet can diagnose the issue! |

| Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I am so glad Kaya is better this morning! Great news! Both my Magic and Sailor struggle with the knees (LP). Sailor handles it by sitting down, but Magic continues to walk but keeps that leg pulled up ....seems like different ones handle it differently. I do remember the first time for both and it scared them as much as it scared me. I did take the girls to the vet the first time.....during regular office hours....so the vet could have record of what had happened and check them for LP. Again.....So glad Kaya is better!!

| This sounds like she MAY have a mild case of luxating patella. I'm no vet but I do have some experience with that issue. Our toy poodle had a mild case of it in one leg and every great once in a while he would come to me with his leg pulled up. I would gently straighten it out and massage his kneecap until it popped back in place. It was never bad enough to require surgery. Just thought I'd share that in case your vet thinks that's what she has. Glad she's feeling better now. It very well could be that it popped back in place overnight. Dax (our poodle) never had any problems or seemed to be in pain after his knee joint (for lack of better words) was back in place.
