![]() I guess I need to talk to the vet to really get the information on tummy tubes. I asked her opinion but she wasn't willing to give it because she didn't think it was her place to say. I just want to know what other people would do in this situation. I'm pretty much stuck between taking him back or getting a tummy tube. I would really like to keep him but I also know that may not be a possibility. Maybe I should just start a new thread and take a poll.

![]() Thank you! He did have X-Rays although the vet did say that something may not always show up on the X-Ray since he is so small. She ran a Barium test and found that nothing was blocking his digestive system, so I don't know what's going on with him.

![]() just clutching at straws here but could he have hurt his tongue, maybe a little paper cut or something. might be something really simple that has happened thats not obvious, and he,s ill because he hasnt eaten etc. really hope you find out whats up. i think you should get the tube and give him a chance and if it is something simple it might heal up after a few days. good luck x

![]() I know it would be hard to give your puppy back to the breeder, but it may be the best chance he has, if she is able to spend more time/money on him than you are able to do. Maybe you could have her take him back for a few weeks, see how he does, and then if he doesn't make it, you could accept the other pup? That way, you will be able to give him a chance, without "giving him away"...?

![]() My yorkie refused to eat this past Thursday. Prior to this time, she appeared perfectly healthy. I took her to the vet and her blood work indicated low protein and low glucose. Our vet referred her to the teaching hospital and we took her up there. They have since performed several test including an endoscopy. They have diagnosed Sophie's problem as Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She also has acid reflux. I don't know if your dog has the same condition, but the symptoms sound very similar to Sophie's. Additionally, every vet that has seen Sophie has asked if she was experiencing diarrhea and vomiting. Although Sophie did not display these symptoms, apparently they are very common with this disease.

![]() I just adopted my 3rd yorkie last Friday. She is very playful and doing fairly well, but she also has quit eating. I've tried tons of different things, even home cooking. My vet said not to give her Nutrical unless she seemed way low of energy, i.e. wobbly, unsteady, etc. She also hasn't pooped since Sunday. I'm very worried, so I know how you feel. Funny how these puppies immediately turn our lives upside down and they are no longer a dog, but our babies! Good luck, and I'm praying for you and your baby.

Thank you for the idea. I'll have to bring that up to my vet. He eats for me a little bit, usually just licking it off my finger, but there are occasions where he will eat out of the bowl. He ate on his own last night, so we were hoping maybe things would turn around today, but he again snubbed his nose whenever the food was brought out. I just don't know what could be going on with him. The problem with his symptoms is that his symptoms describe so many different sicknesses that it's hard to pinpoint which one. Also, he's been having solid poop for a while now and hasn't vomited for a week and a half now, so nothing is really stopping him from being healthy again besides the fact that he just won't eat on his own. He's off the IV for right now, but his hydration levels are dropping a little. We'll have to see how he progresses through the day I suppose. Last edited by Maizee Grace; 10-11-2007 at 07:34 AM. | |

![]() You said you could not stand losing another how have you loss in the past? Anything this puppy could have got? If not eating or drinking they must have the IV, visit often for spport and your love. One time many ears ago my kitten ate a beef stick with the plasic when I was on vacation the peole caring for her did not know it. I came home and found her just laying there she did have to have xrays and then surgary to ge it removed. She was very tiny and did make it with many prayers. My prayers are with you Dear Lord I pray for this pet to be healed in the name of Jesus Amen
