| kalina, thanks for posting that info and for making sure to remind your patients about the possible side effects of the meds they are given. That is sooooo important, and unfortunately, not every vet's office does this. You are right, long-term use of rimadyl can cause liver damage, and they should definitely be tested every so often while on that med.

| my Tinker has been on rimadyl with no side effects but that doesnt mean that someone elses pup will not have them.... Thanks for the heads up! d

| Ow- my heart goes out to u and your puppy. My 10 year old yorkie has been on rimadyl for almost a year for her arthritis. As with any medication, she is monitored closely through blood screenings. So far so good but I am going to mention this controversy the next time I take her in- u can never be too careful with these adorable pooches. |
