| Newman Update... Hi guys. Once again thank you everyone for your concern and support for Newman and I. Gloria, I'm sorry I didn't call you back tonight but as I was going to call you the vet finally got back to me and then it was almost 10pm and I didn't want to call you that late. We have some hope tonight. Our vet spoke to one oncologist but not the one he really wants to hear from His guy is on vacation and that's why he didn't call me until tonight. Anyway this is where we stand right now; First, the surgery to amputate will run about $1500 instead of the five or six thousand I misunderstood it to run. The radiation was going to cost about that and not the surgery. Second, if we go through with it he will spend about two to three days in the hospital and the recovery time goes fairly quick as does adjustment to just three legs. With that said; The vets concern at this time is that he's been in practice since 1977 (30 years) and he's never seen this type of tumor appear in the foot pad and neither has any of the other vets he's spoken with, nor has he found any documented cases in any of the journals or papers he's reviewed. For this reason he is not sure what the outcome or prognosses is after surgery and for that reason he's still waiting to hear from the oncologist that he deals with and trusts so this is what we are waiting on and should have answers hopefully by tomorrow. Personally, I am a wreck. I'm a wreck over the fact that we will lose him for sure if this is not done and I'm a wreck over his losing his leg. Understand it's not for cosmetic reasons I could care less about that and I believe he'll adapt with the three legs. I'm more of a wreck over what kind of pain he'll be in and for how long and that is breaking my heart. I'll keep everyone updated and thank you all so much for your support. Elaine |

| Elaine, thank you for the update on Newman. I've been thinking about him and I'll pray for you and him. It sounds like there is great hope!! I know he would be able to adjust to 3 legs, and if that can save his life, then how wonderful is that!! Praying for you guys!!

| I can imagine how this is tearing you up inside. I dont envy your position in having to make a decision to do this but I am sure whatever you do will be the right thing for Newman. It hurts us to see our poor babies have to suffer for even a minute and I feel so bad that Newman has to go through even a second of pain. Your guys are in my thought and prayers. |

| Oh Elaine...Its alright sweety. We'll catch up tomorrow. I wish I could be there to hug you right now. Newman is such a wonderful, handsome little guy and my heart is just breaking right now. How are your boys & hubby dealing with this? Oh Elaine I'm so sorry honey. You know whats best and remember what we talked about...you feel he's not ready to go. I also know you don't care about cosmetic because I've had the pleasure to meet you and your wonderful skin & fur family and I know how much you love your furkids. I'm here for you. |

| My continued prayers for Newman and you and your family and for your vet. A friend of ours has a border collie mix & he had to make a decision to have her rear leg removed. He decided to do it and she was able to get around very soon after surgery. She has been without it for 5 years and has done real well. He felt guilt over the decision to remove her leg until he saw that her mind and body adapted quickly and she was a happy girl. Hugs to you and Newman.

| Elaine, I am so sorry, no one should ever have to make that decision. Your vet sounds wonderful and I am sure he will let you know that it has to be done, if that's the case, and it really won't be a decision that you'll have to make, so it will be easier on you. Vinnie and myself are praying for Newman, no baby should ever have to go through something like that. If you need ANYTHING, please let us know!!!

| I'm so sorry to hear such bad news. I hope he'll be better soon, and he will get around on three legs just fine.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm glad to hear that hope is alive. Hang in there for Newman and cut yourself some slack. You've been through a lot and there's still more ahead. If you go through the surgery, TALK to Newman about it. Seriously... sometimes I think that whether or not they understand a single word we say, they get the gist by our tones. They know that we are doing something for them because we love them and want them to be better. Thoughts and prayers continue for all of you. I hope this has the best possible outcome. |
