Hey everyone, thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers, and your concern.

Tatum has Coccidia

I took the sample in to the vet and he tested it and said that he did indeed find Coccidia, and that she has TONS of bacteria in her as well

He gave her a shot of Albon Oral-Suspension (which has a steroid in it) as well as a wormer pill (Panacur) just to be on the safe side (although he said that he did not see any signs of them, thank GOD, because that just grosses me out) and he also put her on Amoxi Drops which I have to give her every 12 hours, after meals. She is also on Pro-Pectalin which she has to be given 3 times a day

My poor baby

I just feel so AWFUL for her!!!

AWE! Poor baby!!!! If it makes you feel any better, both Hootie AND my lab, Lamar, both had coccidia as puppies. It clears up super fast after you get them on meds! Sending Tatum get well wishes! Thank GOD it's nothing more serious!

actually - that's good news - she'll get better fast with the meds for the coccidia but don't know how long the bacteria will take to clear up poor baby.....She'll be ok and don't stress too much - she'll feel it

... Glad it was nothing more serious. I bet you see a huge improvement in less than 48 hours

Oh Brooke I know how you must be feeling as Tiger had Coccidia as well when he was young . . . just know she will overcome it as everyone does

I'm just seeing this and I'm so sorry for little Tatum! I'm glad she's on medicine that will make her all better. Big Hugs to both of you. I know how stressful it is when our little ones are sick

Relax tonight Mom....last night must have been so stressful for you! I order an early dinner, with a BIG glass of wine, "jamies" on before 8 and then snuggle those babies all night long!

Coccidia isn't so bad, thank god its only that. She should start to feel better soon with the meds and the coccidia will clear up. i know this is killing you, but it will be over soon Brooke. give some hugs to tatum for me!

You were a very good mommy getting her Kaopectate so quickly and getting on here for answers. Tate is really lucky to have you! Let us know how she's doing-Emma and Milli send their puppy kisses to Tatum to help her get well soon.

Sorry Tatum doesn't feel well, but I am so glad that out of all the things it could have been, it was something easily treatable. I am sure she will be feeling so much better as soon as those meds kick in!

I agree with yorkiemalt, now you need to relax! Last night was rough!
