brooke, also with the runny stools..the softer stools if i were you i would ask you vet to give her some flagyl...for 7 days. giardia is in 70 percent of dogs and with all the rain we have had..the run offs in texas....a person could walk thru a puddle a wet spot pick up a spore and track into our homes and our dogs get giarida...and also when they play outside they can drink from a small puddle without you knowing and get it..or can get it on their feet and lick it off. is in peoples water supply..we get it also. will cause diarhea and sometimes vomiting in dogs.
the tummy feels full as is gasy.....but right now the kaepectate will be fine.....keep me update ok? and i am here if you need me....either by phone or email but will be checking my email all through the night to see if i hear from you....give tatum a big hug and kiss for me and please keep me updated....anne

Please let me know what you find out. My Megan is having the same thing. only she has normal poop in the morning then by eve. it's gooey blody. I want to try the chicken & rice but I don't know it instant rice is ok & is it white or dark meat of the chickin? Good luck. god bless.

or go to the store and get a bag of frozen chicken tenders. micro 1 for 3 min. see that it is cooked. i and a little water and use it to mush in to the rice.take your rice and mush it all together. the more choped up the more the nutrition. NOSALT

I'm not sure if you checked the date, but Tatum was sick over a month ago, and happily, she's all better now! Yay Tate!

If your Megan has bloody poop for more than 1-2 days, you need to call/go see your vet. In the meantime, for diarrhea, it's good to give boiled boneless, skinless, chicken breast. Just boil the raw chicken in water, and mix with cooked rice-about half rice and half chicken.

Instant rice will work in a pinch, but long grain white rice is better, and brown rice is best. Chicken should be the white meat breast only. Do not salt or season in any way, and trim any fat from the chicken breast before feeding it to your dog.

Also, do not give any fruit or dairy at all until the diarrhea has been gone for at least a few days. Those things can further upset the digestive system in our little ones.

that happened with my male when he was a puppy.....it ended up being a sensitivity to the food I was feeding him (Royal Canin Puppy food....my female was fine with it) These little guys have sensitive stomachs, he just couldn't tolerate something in the food....vet told me to switch foods, and it went away. Hopefully it will be something simple like change of diet for your little one! best of luck!!!

Thank you girl! I was just about to reply back and then read your post first! You explained it all way better than I ever could of though, LOL.

WHEW...I am so glad that all this mess is over with! My little Tator Tot is happy and well now! And is done with her spay too - YEAH!!! Now hopefully I will not have to step FOOT back in that vet's office until next year for annual shots! lol ugh!

Hahaha, thanks girl! You are so sweet So glad that your baby is doing well after her spay, I know us mommies just can't help but to worry ourselves crazy over every little thing

Tate went and had her stitches out 2 days ago...and I told them before I left that I hope to God they don't see me again until I bring the babies in for their next set of shots, lol
