Oh good Lord...I am so glad you posted that, LOL!!! I swear I was thinking the entire time...omg - people are going to think I am some kind of WEIRDO because I wanted Sarah to e-mail me pics of her babies POOP!!!! lol! I told Sarah in the PM I sent her that we must be TRUE Yorkie lovers to be exchanging POOP PICS LOLOL!

Oh...and Tate has not pooped ANYTHING at all since I gave her the Kaopectate! Man, she LOVED that stuff!! I also did what her breeder recommended and mixed her some fresh sugar water, and of course gave her Nutri-Cal. Oh, and I also gave her a syringe full of Pedialyte She is sleeping right now...so FOR NOW, everything seems to be ok

Gosh...I am probably going to be up all night watching her!

I hope she feels better soon! Lacy has had diarrhea before and ended up having that mucuousy looking stuff come out when there is nothing else left to poop. I haven't ever seen bloody specs in hers before..just the slimy yellowish stuff. I hope it's just an upset tummy and not giardia. Let us know what the vet says tomorrow. Tatum is so adorable. Is South the name of a town or just the area of texas you are from? I've heard of the town West, TX but not South

Thank you so much! I too hope that it is not Giardia, but I swear...at this point I just DON'T know anymore I keep going back and forth over what I think it might be. I am just so confused right now...but hopefully tomorrow I will have some answers

Also, thank you for the compliments on my little Tate She is a sweetie pie alright, I just wish she was feeling better It just breaks my heart when she's sick!

South Texas is actually just where I am from in Texas, not the name of the actual town We are about an hour and 1/2 from Houston...we are wayyyy down at the very BOTTOM of Texas, lol.

You know this happen to my Duncan about a week or so ago, but not as much blood that night just a small smug. If it wasn't for YT and all the reading I have done here about other members with the same systems, I would have ran to ER at 10pm. I just cleaned him up very well and he slept just fine.

The next morning he did bloody poop like your baby and then I made a 12:00 noon appointment and took a sample of him poop.

It came back no parasites, he has an infection in his stomach ( maybe from a bad bug..LOL) so his on meds and no more bloody poop.

I have learned so much here!!!!!

Yep looks like Giardia or Coccidea for sure. At this point it's a little hard to tell since there isn't any poo to look at. Don't worry too much at this point...just make sure you take in a sample tomorrow and get both looked for. Be specific too as they are both a little hard to find and have to be looked for. I would ask for a snap test for the Giardia. It costs a little more, but it's alot more reliable than a floatation test for the Giardia. Make sure she is eating though and give nutrical if you have it!! If it's coccidea you won't want to stop the poo as that's how they get it out.

Kikko had BOTH giardia and coccidia (he also had another called isospora???) .. it was a HORRIBLE few months for us. but from your pics it definitely looks like one of the too. other than his diarrhea/soft stools/bloody stools, he was completely normal (good appetite, lots of energy, etc...) he was on meds for 6 wks was the longest i think ... we couldn't not determine what exactly was causing all his diarrhea and bloody stools. DEFINITELY do the tests that will specifically identify which parasite it is. Giardia is really hard to find .. we found ONE cell in one sample out of at least 15 samples, i swear. they are hard buggers to find.

i know how you feel brooke, don't worry she will get better, and you will be SO happy when you get that first good poop!!! haahaha! and you'll be able to lower hte vet visits from weekly to monthly.

and i am def part of the club that took pictures of kikko's bad poops! (my vet and i have a communication problem, so I use lots of videos and pictures to show him whats wrong. haha)

Brooke, with all the rain you guys have had - it is entirely possible she has contracted Giardia. Take the sample into your vet and see if that is it. The first time Sissy had Giardia she had so much explosive diarrhea and then it was just mucous and blood.

I definitely DON'T think you're crazy. I've done it myself many times to take to the vet with me. THe last time it happened, there was so much blood, I didn't think they'd believe me w/o pictures.

Poor baby - I would freak too but try to stay calm - everyone posted what it COULD be and it very well could be something like an irritated bowel or a parasite...Chanel had coccidia as a baby and it did look very much like that right before we took her to the ER...with a tiny yorkies tummy - they can irritate easily. Take your sample in and the vet should be able to help - in the meantime - LOTS OF WATER and maybe some chicken with rice.....the main thing is to keep her hydrated and good luck
