| My point is I do not think that your vet is doing you any favors. Please look into seeing another one that is more reasonable. Unless she has had an extended hospital stay or tests more than xrays this just seems shockingly excessive. I hope you can work something out to keep your baby. |

				 | Dena, I am so sorry that you are being forced to make this very sad choice. Have you talked to the breeder? I know that she doesn't really owe you anything (you stated this all came about on its own) - but maybe she would take her back and get her better again? I just hate that you have invested so much love and emotion into little Zoie and then the 6K and in the end you will just wind up with a whole lot of sadness. Dena, I am so sorry. |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hey Dena - I understand you must feel at your limit but I don't know what kind of vet would charge that much for a tooth.....if the Tooth extraction can be done and you only pay 10% - maybe do that and think this thru a little longer ? you may make a decision too quickly that you'll come to regret - I know pnemonia CAN be really hard to treat but once it's gone it's gone right ?? Is there a way for you to take care of the tooth right now - and just keep a good eye on her to see how she's coming along with the other ? |

				 | 1,000 to pull 1 tooth? i paid half that for a neuter , teeth cleaned, and 1 pulled, AND a chip put in. geez that vet sounds REALLY outrageous. I'm sorry you feel you have to rehome your baby.

She said some other things that really hurt me that I won't mention. I said no, there is no way I would do that. Zoie is actually very happy and active. I just can't keep up with her anymore.

OMG!! You won't belive this.. I just looked at Zoie's teeth, and the purple and black is all gone and it's pink again... I noticed her other tooth on the other sidefell out. But she still has the second one that was infected.. I think it might be coming out on it's own. Last edited by Dena; 07-03-2007 at 04:53 PM.

Well, what the vet said is that he didn't recommend her to be put under anestesia (sp?) because of the pneumonia. He said that it is a chance, and if we risk it now, she might not make it out of surgery. He said it's best to wait until she is better. But IF i wanted to go ahead and risk it, that they would have to have specialist there and that the cost of that surgery with all the extra attention she needs would be in the 1000's. SO I don't know what is going on with her tooth right now. But I really can't afford another $100.. Zoie isn't my only financial responsibility. Vet bills are not the only expense.. it's everything together adding up, and other financial issues that together, it's making a huge impact, and I need to get myself out of this situation, otherwise I will end up in the gutter with two homeless yorkies Last edited by Dena; 07-03-2007 at 04:54 PM.

				 | We all pray for you to make the right decision and my heart is heavy b/c I can't help but be assured that whatever you decide to do will have my support. I also understand that it's not only the next $100 that'll come towards you but also the uncertainty what's coming next and the knowledge that you are maxed out... financially and also emotionally. Besides that I have the slight suspicion that your Vet took you to the cleaners... |

				 | Dena, I do hear some positive in your post now, maybe even a glimmer of hope. I do hope that you give it a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more time to see if Zoie is finally making it through the storm. I know that you want her to be healthy and happy and to be apart of your family. I also know that you've spent so much already, it would just really suck if she was really starting to get better and you had already given her to the rescue. The decision is ultimately yours, I know you are trying to do the best, and I hope you know that we all are behind you, whatever happens. |

				 | Can your vet do any kind of a payment program? Maybe if you tell them your financial situation they can work something out for you? It can't hurt to ask. Prayers to your and your dog. |
