She Needs To Have 2 Growths Removed Too. One On Her Eyelid And One On Her Neck. The One On Her Lower Eyelid Is Very Small. Thanks For Replying! I Am New To This And After Posting The Tread I Wasn't Thinking That I Was Still In The Emergency Posts. I Can Not Figure How To Remove It And Place It In The Proper Place. I Hope No One Is Upset With Me. I Just Signed Up 3 Days Ago And I Am Still Reading Up On Things. I Am So Sorry...

Both of my yorkies had to have teeth removed. It was painless and both were up and running about 30 minutes after the procedure. Your baby should be fine!

I haven't had it done on a Yorkie yet, but my Mini Schnauzer had it done about a year ago. She had to have a couple pulled, too. She was just fine. No problems at all. Well, except that they left her in the cage to poop and it was all over her feet... I was so mad. I never went back there again. I called and told them about it and they didn't seem to care or want to take responsibility for it.

| We have annual cleanings done on Buckeye. He is not a chewer and his teeth gets dirty faster than the other 3 do. I need to be better at brushing the teeth.

update on Sadie's dental I am giving the update but I wish I would have again... posted this tread in the proper place. I hate to see it where it does not belong... and i don't know if there is a way to change that or not. anyway, here is the update after her dental done yesterday 6/22 Sadie did well very well for her dental. She did great the vet said under anesthesia and she had a total of 6 teeth removed. :-( Two super small teeth at the very back on the top. Both incisors on the bottom. and one small one on the bottom also. One on the top (a bigger tooth) that was badly abcessed. So we got to that in time... the vet said it was filled with pus badly. She had 3 growths removed. A large one on the back of her neck, one on her nose, and one super tiny one on her lower eyelid. There is a pretty big incision on her neck. probaby at least 8 stiches from what i can see. we didn't expect the incision to be so big?? OR the bill for that matter... 611.00 total. she is my baby and whatever she needs...we will take care of. She needed it done badly and she feels so much better i am sure of that. Her teeth look amazing and nice and white. i am sorry i waited so long to get in in to have it done. I was scared about anesthia. she is taking torbetrol for pain and she is doing extremely well. She goes to have her stiches removed in 10-14 days. :-) Last edited by sadiesamie; 06-23-2007 at 12:16 PM. Reason: spelling

Hi Everyone I'm so glad the dental work was a success for all of you I'm glad I read this thread because I too had some concerns about this My little one needs hers remove as well but I was afraid of the risk and complications involve in this procedure....so I kinda waited for a much as I could for them to fall out. But unfortunately, not all came out I truly hate to see her in pain So I was wondering where's a good and friendly place in Seattle,WA to take her? Any recommendations where or whom? I am in the process of searching for a new vet for her because the one I was dealing with did not treat her kind. Thank you kindly, Lady Bella

I am so glad to read this thread because Murfee needs to have a canine tooth removed. I kept thinking it would come out on its own but he's 3 so I guess I have waited long enough I am also scared of the anesthesia and also since we have just moved I have to find a new vet.

Dentals are the best things for them! I've had several yorkie fosters, many senior, and everyone gets a dental. Everyone has come through w/flying colors, even one gal who was 18yrs old and had a grade 5 heart murmur. (We didn't know she was 18 when we pulled her from the shelter. haha) She had horribly abscessed teeth, I couldn't leave her like that. Even little Niko, at 15 yrs young, lost every tooth in his head. (a few months later he still wanted to eat hard food!) A few months ago we took in a 15yr old yorkie from the shelter whose owners turned her in to be put to sleep because they said she was too old!!! We had her spayed (good thing as although she was not a breeder she had pyometria), removed 2 mammary tumors, and 13 rotten teeth. The improvement in her overall appearance and energy level is amazing. She had brittle, stringy hair, bad skin, was thin--but now she has a thick head of hair and she is a lunatic. No one can believe she is almost 16 yrs old! Anyway, we do dentals on everyone who needs them from the shelter. Haven't had one die yet--and we've had some old ones!!! Pam

Spike had TEN baby teeth pulled (including all four incisors) when they did his neuter surgery. His baby teeth were just NOT coming out, and his adult teeth were all in - he had two rows of teeth and looked like a little shark! He came through his surgery brilliantly and was back to normal that evening, so no need to worry - it is a common occurence and a very routine procedure.

| Elliott Bay Vet. Hospital is excellent and I wouldn't wait for them to fall out. Infection can cause heart problems and toxins throughout their bodies. Charlie had several removed at Elliott Bay and then Shoreline Vet. Dental Hospital (specialize in canine dental surgery). Good luck.
