| I just did a google search on the normal for glucose it said something like 67-125, that sounds more normal to me...but I'm dealing with a full grown dog that eats well not a 2 pound puppy that might not be able to keep food down, or not eating...Call them...see what her glucose level is now and have they been able to get her to eat? Winston acts totally normal when his sugar is back up, and it takes less then a half hour...he'll be up running around like usual. The 1st time I took him to the vet, I had no idea what was wrong, I thought epilepsy...Vet said his sugar was like 30 something, they started IV treatment, he stopped seizing...he ate for them and they sent him home, with instructions to feed him more frequent meals...luckily he's been seizure free now for a couple months. So what I'm trying to say is if she's eating, and her sugar is up, and has stayed up I think if she's not totally "out of it" you'd feel better having her home with you. But if there's any question...won't eat, can't keep it down...her sugar may "REBOUND" and drop again...that's what they want to prevent. So use common sense...and leave her there if theres a chance she won't be able to retain a normal blood sugar...

| Poor little peanut! You did the right thing to take her to the vet. Naughty breeder. She needs the care the vet can give her right now even though she wants to be home with you. You are a good mommie. Just keep listening to the vet and lovin on that baby. I hope she will be well soon and home and happy with her mommie. |

| update tonight Well we went to visit Gemma about 9:30 tonight. They had checked her glucose at 5 and it had dropped into the 80's again. She wasn't interested in any food either so they said I could bring some stuff I know she liked. She wouldn't eat the chicken I brought, but she gobbled down the scrambled egg with cheese YEY! I couldn't give her too much so I left the bag with them. She was giving kisses and everything! We brought Vixxen and Truffles so she could see her sisters too Anyway, I wanted to take her home very bad, especially after seeing how good she looked and they had said her glucose was perfect at 189. BUT I chose to keep her there because they are waking her every 2 hours to offer water and food and I figured by morning she would be out of danger if all goes well. It was hard, but I suppose it was best AND I can get a good nights sleep myself since she had me up all night! The breeder really wanted me to bring her home but you know what....she is my dog now and I think I made better choices for her than she advised... Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts and I will update you in the morning! You guys are the bestest!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I think you're doing the right thing and don't understand the breeders thinking - Keep up the good work and I hope that baby gets well and comes home TODAY - poor little thing - she's got alot going on and I hope you get it under control but vet care is just what she needs right now |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Poor baby! It all sounds so awful. I empathize on leaving her there after having Ozzie in ICU twice in the last six months. It's a tough call, but I think you did the right thing. GET WELL, Gemma! Thoughts and prayers for you both. |

| How is little Gemma doing this morning?? I'm hoping she had a great night and kept down the eggs you brought her. Hopefully with the IV's she will be back to normal in no time!!! Remember, disinfect everything you can think of and then disinfect some more!!

| Whenever she had this episode of hypoglycemia, did she come out of it fairly quickly or does it take longer for her? Did they do any bloodwork or anything? I remember when Miko was hypoglycemia, and it was soooo scary. He didn't always come out of his hypoglycemic episodes quickly. I found that it was much easier to prevent them than to stop one.

I hope they can tell why she started vomiting in the first place! Normally, she has had a GREAT appetite and so full of energy so I dont know where this came from!

| Sending prayers for Gemma. You did everything I would have done. Your a very good mommy for not listening to the breeder and going with your gut instinct.
