yorkieshadow.....Only you know how the incision really looks up close and you also know how much trust and faith you have in your Vet. If you feel comfortable with everything including the instructions the Vet is giving you then I say....hang in there and we'll all be praying Mickey gets better very soon. I'll also add that if there is any doubt (as small as it may be) that something isn't quite right....then find another Vet. My prayers are with you.... |
Poor little guy, and poor you! Guess I missed something, I'm not sure what kind of surgery he had, but he is certainly in my prayers! May he have a quick and easy recovery. |
awwwww poor baby...i'm no expert but it does look different than most stitches i have seen, maybe if you are still worried get a second opinion.....i will be praying for your baby and you!!!! |
I gave mickey a second dose of the pain meds. He seems to be resting more comfortable now,and feeling much better with some thing on his tummy. I even got to catch up on some dishes and laundry. Im not going to worry to much about the spots on the floor right now, I scrubbed them by hand but shampooing will have to wait, Im sure theres going to be a lot more spots in the days to follow. Once hes not so sore, im sure he will start pottying on the pads again. Yes I know my hubby loves our Babies as much as I do, I saw tears in his eyes as I told him Mickey had to go in and have the surgery. |
Mickey is still in our prayers. I'm glad to hear that he's still "kicking" so to speak - and I'm glat the vet at least had an explanation for the horrid stitching job. Pixie's had several surgeries (not this particular one), and she NEVER came home looking like that. Ever. But they were not the same surgeries, either, and perhaps her legs didn't swell like his poor little tummy did. I do wish that he'd eat though. He so needs some good nourishment. Someone's posted something to feed in syringes - I can look around and see if I can find it. It's been posted quite a few times, I think someone posted it in Baby Caddo's thread, too, a long time ago. Maybe this will help him? |
OH! I missed that he DID eat some bites today! I don't know HOW I missed that - I guess I thought the pictures were hubby trying to feed him... I'm not *quite* with it LOL In that case, CONGRATS!!! :D That makes me VERY happy! |

I'm sure he's feeling a LOT better. Meds on an empty tummy are rough. Poor baby. I'm thrilled that he's making a comeback. I was soo worried about him. Still am, but I'm feeling better and better about him :D |
Oh good!! He's eating a little bit! We're all still praying for Mickey! Everyday you'll see more improvement. |
Prayers for Mickey tonight. I hope he has a quiet night. |
I'm sorry but what was this surgery for? Was it an exploratory surgery? Cookie had that and the incision looked nothing like that. It was red but not swollen and the stitches looked tighter and closer together. Your incision pics look blurry so it's hard to tell. The incision appears to be zig zag? It looks so painful. I hope he get's well soon. It's awful when they feel miserable :( The good thing about dogs is that they recover amazingly fast! Genie Cookie Lola Angel |
Prayers are going your way Mickey:hands: :hands: :hands: |
How's he doing this morning? |
Debbie can you use some belly band so he doesn't spot everywhere. Maybe not a good idea with the stitches . |
