| Oh no...not again...Will continue praying for you and Scruffy...Is the vet giving any idea what might be making him so sick? Liver...pancreas...I sure hope they can find out what's causing this, so you at least know how to treat it...maybe related to something he's eaten...could he have gotten into something and ate it? Just guessing, trying to help solve this...Please get well Scruffy, Winston and I are praying that you do, really, really soon...

| Scruffy is alot better this morning. Vet said Pancreas - Liver. thats all we know so far. Waiting for blood test results this morning. YorkieDaze & Joy&Bella sent me some Recipes. I will try the Home Cook Food for them now. All the Dog Food Recalls have really got me scared.

| I talked To the Vet this Morning. The BloodTest turned out 100% better than 2 wks ago. The enzymes in the Liver were back to normal. NO Liver Shunt!!! The Vet feels is was a Slight case of Pancreatitis. He feels I caught it sooner this time than last time 2 wks ago. We will wait to see if he has another episode before any further testing. UltraSound will be the next Test. Thanks so much for all of your Prayers It means a Great Deal to Us I will keep you all posted. Kim

| Well, good news, I'm elated!!! But what caused pancreatitis, I've heard some fatty foods can do that, and of course diabetes. Can they tell that from blood test, amylase I assume...or does ultrasound/x-ray/ct scan have to be done for diagnosis? It can still be very serious, be sure to watch him oh so carefully. Best wishes, for a full and total recovery!!! Stay well Scruffy, Winston and I are praying for you...

I have always feed them all Puppy Food because we always have a puppy here. Scruffy & Lexi are 2 yrs old & probably should be on Adult Food. Maybe thats where I messed up - trying to make it easy to just leave dry kibble out for them all the time. They normally eat: Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul Dry - Protein 28% - Fat 18% mixed with before Recall: Nutro Ultra Puppy Can - Protein 9% - Fat 5%. BUT I recently got a new puppy & she was on Purina Pro Plan Puppy Dry Protein 30% - Fat 20% mixed with: Pedigree Lamb & Rice Puppy Can Protein 9% - Fat 8%. So I had switched all of them to this about a month ago. Then switched back to Chicken Soup & Pedigree canned about 3 weeks ago. Scruffys problems started 2 weeks ago. I stopped the canned food totally yesterday. they still are eating Chicken Soup Puppy & I Home Cooked today for them. BUT I think the Lean Beef in the recipe is to much Protein (couldn't find Lamb Down here) I recieved samples in the mail today from Artimis - to high in protein & fat 29% & 18%.. Can't get Canidae around here - the lamb & Rice formula is only 21%protein - 12.5 fat. I don't know what the hell to feed them now! Ive searched the web to find a Dry Dog Food low in Protein & Fat I think we have Natural Balance Potatoe & Duck 21%protein & 10%fat at Petsmart. Wellness Products (chicken, lamb or fish & sweet potatoe)22% protein & 12%fat at a local Pet Store.

| I found the Natural Balance Potatoe & Duck Dry Food with 21%protein & 10%fat at Petco. The label states it is for All Life Stages - So I will use it for Puppy also. All 4 of my Furbabies seem to like it - time will tell. I will use this for now & try Home Cook Recipe later on when Scruffy has made a complete recovery. In the mean time I will search around Town for Lamb Meat. YorkieDaze said I need to stay away from Red Meat for Scruffy. Thanks for all the Wonderful Prayers!!!!!

| Good luck with the feedings...I really have no idea any more, what's good for them...what's not. But whatever you decide on, if it works, stay with it. I'm not to keen on constantly changing dog foods, so if I find something mine will readily eat...and doesn't make him sick, I'm not changing...Unless there's a RECALL...God forbid. Still praying that Scruffy has no lasting effects from his bouts with pancreatitis, that he continues to recover, eat well and stay healthy. Hugs!!!

I kinda learned it on my own. I read on the Web that someone with Pancreatitis diet should be Low Protein - Low Fat. His BloodWork turned out 100% better than 2 wks earlier when Enzymes in Liver were Elevated. This episode was not like the one 2 wks ago. He is on Antibiotics for a week. Further testing will be done if he has another episode. Thanks for your help! Did Sophie pass away from Pancrease problems?
