| More Mickey prayers Chachi, Do you know if there is a rectal suppository for dogs to stop nausea and vomiting? He's not going to improve if he can't keep anything down...With people you use the suppository 1st, then try to give food, water and medication by mouth...Does anybody know? If not he needs to be hospitalized soon for IV therapy. I'm so frightened that he's not going to make it. Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming for Mickey...

| I am so sorry. sending prayers for your baby. I know if anything happened to mine it would be horrible. I hope your baby gets better and maybe the surgery will do it for your baby boy. Good luck with the surgery and prayers for good results.

| Well when I got off here earlyer The vet called me back , I had left him a message about Mickeys poop looking like black tar. He said to bring him right in, Well He was leaving with in 30 minutes from the time we talked and there was no way we could make it there in time. So I called him back and said I would bring him in first thing in the morning and that way it would give me a chance to bring in a stool sample too. well The good news is Mickeys kept down three large syringe full of the a/d prescription diet This is what I feed him in the syringe. and lots of water and pedylite, . hes even went out 4 times today, but over did it and couldnt walk back in. He was so excited to see my kids here, They came for Mothers day and he was up and wagging his little stub . The bad news is, Its time to give him his meds again and thats what I think is making him sick. so will talk to the vet in the morning when I take him in to see if any of the meds is whats causing him to be sick, becaus ewith out the meds he keeps the food down. |

| Sounding a little more encouraging...Thoughts and Prayers...Ask your vet about the childrens suppository, they really do work for nausea...then maybe he'll be able to stand taking his medications without throwing up. PS Thanks Chachi!!! I didn't know for sure if you could use childrens suppositories...Hope it helps.

| Last week when Bentley was sick and vomiting, the vet told me to give 6.25mg of a phenergan suppository. Bentley weighed 4.2 pounds. I gave half of a childrens 12.5mg phenergan suppository and it worked great, he never vomited again. Don't let him eat or drink anything for 6 hours after the suppository. Don't give any dairy products. I am not sure about the black stool, it might be the meds. In humans black tarry stool is a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding. I know that anti-inflammatory & pain medication for humans like motrin or naprosyn can cause stomach problems and even ulcers, so maybe that is what is causing his vomiting. I will continue to pray for him.... |

| A little update. He keeping most of his food down yesterday and today, he did get sick once today two piles. The good news is his insicion is looking good and healing great, No swelling no redness. the bruising is starting to fade out now. Hes drinking some on his own, but I still srynge pedlite down him after he takes his pills and other meds and inbetween the syringe feeding, his eyes look brighter today, but he lays most of the time. I dropped two of his meds, they seemed to make him worse and keeping him on the acid pills for his tummy and the antibiotics and the pain meds once a day instead of 3 x's aday. The bad news is he has lost a lot of weight going from 5 lb -3lbs hes not eating at all on his own he did two days but after throwing it up each time its like he just quit eating. he still moans and crys when peeing and he only seems to get out a few srops each time. we was suppose to be at the vets this morning but I had to change it until later today. I have made a huge list on what to ask the vet, I dont want to forget any thing. Theres has been no more black stuff when he poos, but he hasent pooped today, Im waiting on that so I can take a sample in to the vet with us. |
