| ![]() I hope little by little he is improving. Makes sense to give him something to stop the vomiting and enough pain medication to make him comfortable. If only he could keep something down, you could force feed him with a syringe, poor baby. Isn't there suppositories to give rectally if he can't keep his medicine down, to control the nausea? I know that's what they often do for people. If not I would think he would need some IV hydration & nutrition. I think the incision will be fine, as the swelling goes down, you'll just have to be sure, as he gets stronger that he doesn't start scratching or chewing on the stitches. Well anyway, just wanted to let you know we're still worried about him, and want him well. Winston and I send our healing thoughts and prayers!!! ![]()

He keeps looking to the spot on the back of the couch in front of the window wanting me to put him up there. I had to tell him no.I asked him if he wanted to go out side, and slowly he walked to the door. so I carried him the rest of the way out and down the porch steps he pottyed again and come stood by me, like ok Im done , Im tried now. lol hes taking a nap now. |

| ![]() Well Mickeys eating a little here and there, but it all comes back up, so does his meds. he cant seem to hold any thing down even the stomach meds for upset tummys. Hes on 6 different meds and its been a lot of work, and so hard to get them down him cause I cant put them in food he dont want the food. and once I get them down , he is off throwing them all up again. We have tried feeding him his reg food, cheese, chicken, cereal, treats, . Scrambled eggs icecream, chicken, steak, hamburgar, Turkey breast, chicken breast lunch meat. Prescription a/d , Prescription S/D,. he did eat like 10 bites of the hamburgar and steak bites, but that came up, he did eat the turkey breast but that came up. he ate a little cottage cheese, but that came up. so today I start him on the c/d Prescription feed by syringe. But I dont know how thats going to stay down, if nothing else seems to be. hes still crying and straing to get just a few drops of pee out. and now his poo is like black tar. hes so skinny. Please keep praying for him. Thanks. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I will keep Praying for him.. I think you may need to see another vet. I didn't read all of the entries so I'm not sure if you have gotten a second opinion yet, but if not I would consider consultation with somebody else. Best Wishes & Prayers are being sent your way..

| ![]() I hate to say it because I know how hard it is to not have them at home....but maybe it's time for your Vet to hospitalize him. This way he can keep him on IV and at least get him the fluids and nutrients he needs right now. I'm so sorry....it seems like he's trying so hard to get better but just isn't feeling well enough yet. I'd give the Vet another call....he can't go too many days vomiting up everything. HUGS go you both!

| ![]() Which pain meds does your vet have him on...After Miko had his first bladder stone surgery, they sent him home with Rimadyl for pain, and he had severe side effects...He vomitted everything, couldn't keep anything down. He became lethargic...It was affecting his liver.

| ![]() Oh my, I actually had my fingers crossed when I opened this thread today. So sorry to hear he's not recovering as well as we'd hoped. Please have him hospitalized, he needs IV for hydration and nutrition, poor little guy, my heart is breaking for him and you...If your vet won't keep him for IV therapy, find one that will, this has been going on for too long, and he has one step forward then 2 steps back. The tarry stools has me VERY concerned, could be bleeding internally, unless any of his medications will cause this change in stool color(some do). He has already lost blood from his bladder, he may very well be anemic, do they give dogs transfusions? I know they often do that with people, when they've had a great deal of blood loss, but then you have to stop the source of bleeding. Still sending lots and lots of prayers, Mickey, please get well soon...

| ![]() I called the ER , but noones returned my call so far. Im hoping the black poo is caused from all his meds, he didnt do that untul I started giving him the tummy meds yesterday. But will have it checked out. I gave him some vet priscription food through the syringe, going to see if he can keep that down, I only gave him one large srynge full so far , will keep this up the rest of the day and see how it goes, If it keeps coming back up ill have to take him in in the morning to start a IV, I dont think its not that he dont want to eat, I think its all making him sick at his tummy, and its might be all the different meds hes on and taking with out any thing on hie tummy. Well its been over an hour and so far the food I feed him through the syringe has stayed down. keep your fingers crossed. |

| ![]() So far so good on keeping that food down this morning? I'm hoping so....Also, my Lexxi is on medication daily for her hydrocephalus, and her poop is pretty tar like too. And after their spay, the poop is the same way. So my guess is that it is "ok" and caused by the meds. When I had to syringe feed Lexxi, I mixed the pedialyte with the food, to water it down, for extra nutrients too. She wouldn't drink the pedialyte on her own and I tasted it and I know why! LOL! Still praying for your little man! Hope he keeps some food down today!! Hugs from me and the girls
