Please don't blame yourself. You're doing all you can for your baby. I'm sure she appreciates it. You rescued her, and are trying so hard to save her. Do you think others would do the same? Some people would've put her down right away, but your trying so hard to save her. I give you credit. I hope the best for you and your baby. She's very lucky to have a mommy who cares about her so much.

aw Kami, i Just read thru everything and i'm so sorry this is happening to you and your little boy. Kidney disease is a horrible thing for something so young to go thru. I'm praying for him and hoping the specialist will tell you something good.

Hi everyone, thank you for prayers they might possibly start working and are giving me hope. I went to the hospital and spoke with the specialist. Finally someone who knows what he is talking about, older vet with experience over 30 years. He said that looking at everything the lab results the xrays and all that they can check it looks like a viral infection, they are suspecting leptosterosis. He says it does not look like it is congenital because his kidney is normal size. Now lepto is contagious to humans with a very tiny chance of getting from a dog, but they are not sure if it is lepto and wont know it until seven days or so for sure after they obtain tests. It could be other bacterial infection. Now the good part is there is very slight improvement but there is an improvement and thats all that I wanted to hear. My baby is fighting and he is fighting hard. The kidneys have only over 4% of functioning but it is slightly increasing. He is saying that they want to see better results but that he is responding to treatment. If it goes up to 7 or 9 that I can take him home and he can be under ivs at home which isnt hard to do and that if he gets out of this horrible infection that he can have up to 30% or can surprise us all and have even more but he can live with it with special food and medications. My God this doctor has given my hope, I even got to see him they have him isolated considering lepto might be contagious but I got to pat his little head and he was awake, looked better to me. Now it is very very costly but I will do anything to save him, keep fighting. If anyone knows where I can start the possible process of donations, anything to help my baby because the costs will be so much more and it is already so much money. This is the latest update, there is a spark of hope. Praying Praying for my little baby to get well and come home to mommy because I miss him soooooo much.

Thank God that this vet was able to give you hope! I've been reading this thread thru from the beginning and I just can't believe that pet stores get away with this crap. Sue 'em!
