I am so sorry for you and I will pray for you and your baby. I recently went through something very very similar...I went to an ER Vet late on a Friday after my baby had been vomiting and had diarrhea with low low bloodsugar. They rushed him in to get IV's and couldn't get his bloodsugar or temperature regulated. They told me I could pay around 2k for tests and for 24 hour care for one day or put him down. I couldn't put him to sleep knowing that he may pull through. They kept giving him his IV for a while and all of a sudden brought him in to me and he came right over to me and licked me all over. He was a very sick baby and gave me lots of worry and heartache. I was sooo glad I didn't say to put him to sleep, he is fine now and back home with me. I did however go through alot to get him here. I had to feed him (force) every 2 hours of the day...and I had to return him to the breeder where his mother was for 2 weeks and he is fine, but I still have to monitor everything he does. There is hope...I was in a similar position and my little guy pulled through with lots of prayers and lots of hope! I do know how tough the decision is to make, but if your baby has a problem that cannot be fixed with surgery or treatment, then you have to be the strong one...and make a decision. Did they doctors give you any options as far as treating this problem? I do not know alot about it so forgive me if this is a question that I should already know the answer to.

It continues to blow my mind how a tiny fragile package can contain so much unconditional love and happiness! I never forget how fragile my babys are but with their huge personalities, it could be easy to forget how much care they need when their little bodies are so fragile!

Most recent update on lil miko:

His kidney function is very slowly increasing but it is increasing. It went from 3.45 to 3.85 to 4.55 to 5.32 (today's result). It is not increasing at a greater paste but the important part is that he is fighting slowly but he is. Doctor said that the most important thing is that he is still alive it is his 5th day he is a very strong little guy and might just win. When I visited him today he looked more lively although very scared and stressed out but he wanted to jump out of the little basket that he is laying in that they had to put a lid on it so he doesnt escape. They said that they walk around the emergency room and all of a sudden there is miko on the floor next to the basket trying to escape. My God I wanted to take him home sooooo badly, I still have hope for my lil baby and I am fighting for him I cannot give up now. It is very expensive financially wise but how can I give up now? I will be creating a trust fund for lil miko as a new thread on yorkietalk and if any of the wonderful people here on yorkietalk would be able to donate whatever is possible and affordable to help save my baby's life it would mean a world to me. Thank You for everything and for all of the prayers that have been going out for my lil guy. He is knocking on death's door but they dont want to let him in, he is very strong and I believe with all of the help and prayers that we can surround him with he can recover and come home and live a normal life. Thank You everyone.

finally some good news! even though it is small improvement... it is still improvement! your little guy knows his mommy is fighting for him and that is why he is giving it his best... i'm sure if you didn't care as much as you do Miko would give up... good for you for fighting for him.. i have a good feeling about him and i pray you get to have him at home soon to spoil :) Keep us posted
