Especially when this disease is spreadable to humans and that there is a possibility that they might have human leptosterosis on their hands.

I was so happy to see there is a slight improvement in little Miko but sorry to hear it was such an infection. Prayer's coming for both of you.
You sound like a very strong person and I hope you get the results you so deserve from Petland. If only authorities would take more control on these stores these little ones would not suffer like they do.
Hope Miko continues to inprove.

I'm just reading this post for the first time. I'm so sorry you and your little one are going through this. I am hoping that each day brings some improvement and your little guy makes it through this!

I spoke with the regular doctor that is working the er shift and she said miko is very lethargic and weak, looks very pale, his sugar level was low yesterday it dropped. They cannot take too much blood from him because he is soooo small. Once again Im on the road of pain and suffering not knowing what the road will bring if I continue to follow it. I am praying that my baby will start feeling better because receiving such horrible news is so painful to me. God please let miko get well I love him more than anything.

Is there a way to get a secoind opinion? I am in Illinois and can give you my doctor's information. I am in Chicago and the doctor is in the city as well. Maybe you can call and arrange for a concultation?

You can sue, of course, but it is not going to bring your baby back to normal.

aw sorry to hear there is no improvement with the latest update. hopefully soon.

and i hope petland gets what's coming to them... they make me sick. there's one in my town too

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( oh no....I'm so sorry ....I don't know what to say ....but you have my prayers. That's not good at all

Thank You for everyone's prayers please continue it is giving him strength to fight. I am going to visit him again and bringing him his little bear maybe it will keep him company and remind him of home. I miss him soo much and cant wait to see him.

What a roller coaster you and Miko have been on. I hope your visit will perk him up and that there continues to be improvement. This is probably going to a "two steps forward, one step back" scenario for a while. Prayers still coming your way. Come on little Miko - you can do it!!!

I just saw & read your thread, and I'm having a hard time seeing & writing through my tears for you and your little boy.....at the same time feeling such anger towards petland.

I know 2 ladies from another group that have been ask to leave petland because they speak to people looking at the doggies and employee's telling them were petland really gets their dogs from :p

I was thinking that when you speak to the manager from petland and if they refuse to refund all your money (purchased amount, vet bill...) tell them not only are you going to sue them, your going to contact the local news paper and tell them your story. How they are selling animals with infections that are contagious to humans and in hopes to find others to join in your law sue against them.

Also, let them know your filing a claim with the better business bureau and reporting them to the ????? what is the name of that department that all infection and disease have to be reported to by medical facilities.....like when someone has an STD? I'm sure one of our RN's here will know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I will pray for you and your baby Miko to get your miracle that you sure deserve.

Rosie - good post - that may fly with petland & get them to do the right thing for her - especially if it's contageous to people - I doubt Petland would want that kind of publicity...and if they give her a hard time - we could all go to bat for her. It wouldn't be the first time this site has rallied for someone.
