Most recent update. I just called the hospital and requested blood work to be faxed to me (the first one). Little Miko is stable he is doing okay not worse but not any better unfortunately. The test resulta show bun of 130 and creatine of 5.8. These values are both high and that is what made them right away turn to kidney failure (disease). In dehydration the creatine is not high but who knows maybe something else triggered it. I am still praying everything will work out, I need a miracle. They will be running a second bloodwork panel at 2pm today and I will be going there to personally speak with the doctor. Im just not sure what to do if they come out bad once again, maybe I can take all of the results to another hospital of fax it over and see what they say, does anyone think that would be possible? |

You should also call PetLand and talk with the manager and let them know what is going on so they can pay for your vet bills Praying for a good outcome with the next round of tests |
Stupid petland told me when I first called them that they will not be able to cover any vet bills except in the first 14days and with their veterinarian. That time already passed last friday, I dont think that is fair they should be the ones paying for this. I will be calling them as soon as they open and tell them the situation and if I have to threaten them with a lawsuit I will just so they have to go through some trouble considering what I am going through. How can they do this to people knowing that most of these pups are not healthy. My God they should be punished for this. Does anyone recommend a vet clinic to send the results to ? The one in Grayslake? Patti do you think they would agree to look at the test results if I fax it to them? |
Kami, I just read your thread and my heart is breaking for you. I hope your baby gets better. It is so very difficult when they are ill and can't tell us what is going on. My baby was sick his first week home and had to spend a couple nights in the 24 hour vet. I hope you have a good outcome. I will be praying for you and your baby. |
kami our thoughts and prayers to you and for Little Miko, I will check back later for update, what a loving and caring mom Little Miko has, you have done so much to try to find out the cause of his problem, prayerfully you will get better results when you go this afternoon. I addressed a card to you and will get it in todays mail. Jack and Patti and Baby Blessing |

as far as Petland - I would go over that person's head that you spoke with and keep after them ...From what I read in your other posts he needed medication the day after you brought him home and he stayed in the hospital...that tells me he was probably sick when you bought him poor baby. :( :( many of us haven't dealt with a sick puppy like you are ...but you deserve way better than having Petland turning you down - they should pay for everything ...It may not help your little guy right now & I hope he gets better... but it's just wrong what they put people through. Keeping your baby in my thoughts and hoping for a happy ending. He may just surprise you and get better - yorkies can be little fighters. |
OMG this is soo terrible :( You and your baby in are in my prayers. I hope the best |
Kami - I hope the 2nd set of bloodwork showed some improvement for Little Miko. If he is still not eating, perhaps you could take some food to him. Sometimes they just want their mommy. We're still sending prayers and Sissy sends along kisses as well. |
Kami, I am so sorry to hear this and prayers are going out to help strenghten your baby. I am in Illinois and my friends puppy was deathly ill, the vet opted to put hers to sleep to. She then called animal hospitals in surrounding areas to see if anyone had experience in the illness. She felt the vet was giving up to soon, so she found a hospital in Indiana. She said if they could get her pup to live a little while longer, that's what she wanted. :( I've read where a lot of rescues have dogs with liver shunt and send them to certain vets with experience. You may want to call them for recommendations. God bless you, I can't imagine the pain of what you or others have to go thru, so my heart goes out to you. |
