| ![]() I know how traumatic it is to have a little one hurt like that. Hang in there! Like little kids who are sometimes prone to accidents, they bounce back. Good luck!

| ![]() i have three sets of steps, landing pads because he won't go down the steps... and i try to pick my duke up and down from stuff because no matter what, he seems to have a mind of his own. i guess there is only so much we can do to protect them. sorry about the pup's break, hopefully he will have a full recovery soon. duke had to have surgery for his left hip when he was a pup and has always limped when jogging, but that's just his thing. glad he was licking you again. ![]()

| ![]() Just to let everybody know Fletcher (we finally decided on a name) had a pin put in his leg today, he's out of recovery and back home. He's pretty stressed, he had diarrhea last night and wouldn't stop whimpering. He seems to have calmed down a bit now, but is still whimpering, he's eaten, gone to the washroom (if you will) and walked about as much as he's really able to at this point.... Maybe tomorrow will be a better day Thanks again for all your kind thoughts. |

| ![]() Poor little Fletcher! ![]() We really have to be careful of the little ones jumping on and off furniture. I know a woman whose maltese jumped off of a sofa and broke her neck. This maltese had been jumping for years and just one time landed awkwardly and broke her neck. The dog had to be put down because she was paralyzed. It was a horrible tragedy. Get well wishes for Fletcher (love the name!) and welcome to YT. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Yep time for pet stairs. So glad Fletcher will be ok. I know when something happens to our babies, it can sure scare the mess out of us. When Venus started jumping off the sofa, at about 4 months or so, scared me to death. She'd do a drop and roll. Thank God I have carpet and really good padding underneath. I knew with her, as little as she was, I needed pet stairs for the bed. She loves them too! She's never jumped off the bed. But with Adonis I had to teach him how to use them by putting food on each step then the top of my bed. He will use them going up, but still (after 2 months) will jump off the bed. He's 5 years old. So glad Fletcher will be ok. If you need to keep him still, crate him. Thats how I kept Venus still last night after her spay. |

| ![]() Sorry to hear that. My little Bella jumped off of the couch the day after we got her also. She fractured all of her little toes on that foot! The vet said it is very common for these little dogs to fracture or break their legs. I hope the little guys heals nicely.

| ![]() I have often wondered if carpet makes the difference. More room for error in bad landings. I have wondered if I had tile or wood floors around my couches what might happen to Lucy when she jumps on the floor from the couches. |

| ![]() Our little girl, Lacy, jumped off the bed onto a carpeted floor three weeks ago and also broke the ulna and radius. She has 4 pins! Emergency vet charged us $326 for x-rays and splint. Our vet charged $1010 for surgery. He checks her every week and changes the bandage. She came in from "doing her business" last week and was obviously in extreme pain. She stayed at the vets fro 2 nights and he could find nothing wrong. She is home again and seems to be doing quite well. Vet encourages us to try to keep her as quiet as possible. Says she will have pins for at least 8 weeks and if x-rays are okay they will then take 2 of them out and see how she does for another week or two. Hope your little one recovers with no problems. |
