Poor little Fletcher!
I agree with Villette and WRScorpio, get some steps for him. Yorkies have no fear and will jump no matter how high. We have steps for our bed and big pillows (that my boys lay on) that act as a ramp for the sofa.
We really have to be careful of the little ones jumping on and off furniture. I know a woman whose maltese jumped off of a sofa and broke her neck. This maltese had been jumping for years and just one time landed awkwardly and broke her neck. The dog had to be put down because she was paralyzed. It was a horrible tragedy.
