Garden State is an EXCELLENT hospital! i've known many dogs that have had surgery there. I'll be praying for sammi and morgan sends her kisses. I hope sammi pulls through this. god bless you and your family, fur and skin

Oh Fran my heart just breaks for you. I am praying that things turn around for Sammi. She holds a special place in my heart and it just kills me to hear about her being sick.

Thank you for the link! I mentioned it to the vet last night and he said when he tested he urine he found no protein...So he didnt think it was that...But he said it could be a possibility...

I don't know how I missed this thread. My thoughts and prayers are with your family! Miracles can and DO happen - especially with all this wonderful support and prayers flying your way. I'm praying for a wonderful outcome.

Fran,I can relate to your despair over Sammi.Lost my Kirby a year ago to liver failure due to phenobarbital medication that treated his seizure disorder.The vets called it cirrhosis of the liver and they had told me Kirby's liver could not regenerate anymore.His liver and abdomen were enlarged and also it affected his pancreas which in turn elevated the glucose and needed to receive insulin injections.Had a liver biopsy done as last resort after the sonagram was inconclusive.They took very good care of him at the University of Tenn.in Knoxville and were very compassionate and caring toward Kirby and I.I just wanted to share this with you and I hope your Sammi is not in any pain.My heart is breaking for you both.Cathy and Yoshi

I think we all are praying so hard for Sammi and hoping for a miracle. These Yorkies are so special. My late Pixie was like my daughter. I loved her more then my kids (grown). I know what Fran is going through. Prayers are with Sammi and Fran.
