Fran,I can relate to your despair over Sammi.Lost my Kirby a year ago to liver failure due to phenobarbital medication that treated his seizure disorder.The vets called it cirrhosis of the liver and they had told me Kirby's liver could not regenerate anymore.His liver and abdomen were enlarged and also it affected his pancreas which in turn elevated the glucose and needed to receive insulin injections.Had a liver biopsy done as last resort after the sonagram was inconclusive.They took very good care of him at the University of Tenn.in Knoxville and were very compassionate and caring toward Kirby and I.I just wanted to share this with you and I hope your Sammi is not in any pain.My heart is breaking for you both.Cathy and Yoshi
