| ![]() Lou- I agree that you are doing the best thing for her right now. But it is very hard to leave them in someone else's care. She is getting stronger and she'll be home for good before you know it. Come on little Adie - we're all rooting for you!

![]() Lou, don't get down on yourself! You are being the very best mommy that any little sick puppy could ask for!!! Don't worry...Adie will be well soon and back home with you. Before you know it she will be big and old enough to enjoy for a lifetime.

![]() Adie did so well over night that they decided to feed her a bit. She kept it down! She didn't vomit at all and had only one bout of loose stools. She kissed my whole face and wagged her little tail when I picked her up. I did have to take her to the regular vet in order to continue IV's. I just called over there and they said she is doing fine. No loose stools and every thing is where it ought to be! They just wanted to keep her on her IV and get her to eat a little bit more. The vet said they were going to take her IV out really soon because she was starting to be too active to safely leave it in. They will do sub-q for the rest of the day. I don't want to get my hopes up but I can't help it. She may come home tonight! Once again I give thanks to everyone for your kind words and support. ![]() Lou

![]() When you get her home just keep giving her pedialyte by syringe every hour around the clock until she is eating and drinking well on her own. Also give Nutristat 4 or 5 times a day to keep her blood sugar up. Most don't like that prescription diet so I would suggest you go get some baby food meat (chicken) pureed just in case she won't eat it. It's a $1.00 for a small jar, but at this point I can tell you're not worried about expenses. They can literally lick that off your finger and, of course, they love it.

![]() No vomiting for 24 hours all her levels are great and she is drinking water really well and eating a little on her own. We still have to force the issue when feeding her but she is home and what a frisky little thing she is! She bit our shepherd on the nose for sticking it in her face then she started teasing him. She is very wiggly and kissy with her mommy! Right now she is worn out and sleeping peacefully in her crate cuddled up to a hot water bottle wrapped up in towels. She has another spot where she can get away from the warmth too if she wants. She still has that little gadget in her little arm but it comes out tomorrow morning when I take her in for another checkup before she is discharged. She is on Clavamox and Albon Susp. She is to eat at least 12ml of a/d and drink some Pedialyte every 6 hours. The vet said not to add any other food at this time because anything sugary might start the diarrhea again. Thank God I have my baby back! She treats me so differently than she treats anyone else. It looks like she is going to be one of those sweet little mama's girls. Darn! I was hoping she would ignore me lol. Lou

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Adie has been declared officially well by the vet. Her port for the chatheter is out...she is eating and drinking water (still having to force the food but that is because she hates a\d!) The vet doesn't need to see her anymore! And so ends the saga of Sick puppy, Adie. We now have a little dog that hits the floor running the minute she gets out of the crate and terrorizes the shih tzu. She finds the german shepherd's nose facinating (he loves it.) Thanks to all! I now declare this thread over! Picures coming soon on the right forum. Adie's Mommy

![]() Even though I declared this thread closed I had to come back to it in order to tell all of you how Adie is doing now. Sick Puppy? No way. She is about as spunky as they get and has turned in to a real tomboy. Her mother is part mountain goat and Adie evidently inherited that gene. She actually climbed up the back of the couch last night in order to get to my plate of food!!! She weighs 1lb 9oz so she has gained back her weight plus a little more. She is just the most wonderful thing since sliced bread!! We love her dearly and can't keep our eyes off of her when she is playing or when she is sleeping for that matter. <grin> Here are some pictures from last week. (9 weeks.) I love you all! Lou
