| just make sure you keep him on antibiotics. I used benadryl and robitussin. (the vets idea) it did help. It does take a long time to go away. I hated to hear her cough...she still does in the morning and when she gets excited. And she is 5 months old now. So she had it for along time! But if it is just kennel cough you dont want it getting into his lungs...Good luck...

| took him to the vet yesterday, did use benadryl over the weekend, for a couple days, does seem better, lungs sound clear it is the bronchitis, just takes it a while to clear up since they're so small, no fever, so just have to do the beni for a while, i was just worried it could go to his lungs, but thankfully it didn't and he's improving slowly, he's full of energy thats for sure. thanks for the reply, it's kinda nice chatting with some one who has a little one like Ernie. Thanks again, Lori |

I like unique names, and I've never heard of another yorkie named Ernie! Hope he continues to improve. Both of mine are tiny and they both had coughs when they were very young. The vet told me it was because their little bodies were getting used to my home environment (the air conditioner, carpet, dust, ect.). I had to really monitor their cough to make sure it didn't go to their lungs. Both of theirs cleared up after several weeks and a round or two of antibiotics. Hope Ernie gets well soon!

What do you all think? Am I putting him in danger by waiting until Friday? Should I only worry if he stops eating or is listless?

| I would call your vet and ask him these questions to be safe. |

| Ernie's cough is slowly fading, did benedryl for a couple days, then quit, heard from someone that they get to sniffing too many things ,i guess allergys, and since he's new to my home, it just took time for his lungs to adjust to everything, he's doing fine, except for judging heights, he doesn't know when something is too high off the ground. good luck with yours, for now mines doing fine, vet said his lungs sound clear, just have to watch, and also i had him in one time for his 1st check-up for the bronchitis, then took him the second time and for a re-check it was 1/2 price, that's always good to know. later |
