Please don't be too hard on yourself. I know it's hard because us Moms are supposed to "know it all" but you did what you could by trusting your instincts the first time by getting her checked out and then knowing that you had to get her to another vet later. I don't have any experience or knowledge on hookworms but I'm thinking of ya'll and anxiously awaiting the good news that I hope you'll get. Good luck.

Oh my gosh! You poor thing! You did everything right. The first vet should have caught that. bless her little heart, and yours as well for going through this! I hope we hear some good news soon. I have been saying some prayers!

Amanda, oh my goodness honey I am so scared for you right now!! Please please let us know as soon as you can how things are going with your little girl!

You always hope when your vet tells you everything is going to be OK that they are right and it will be... but they are human, unfortunately, and do make mistakes. AND I AGREE! You are NOT NOT NOT a bad mother, you are a wonderful doggy mom, and you know your furbabes love you. This is NOT YOUR FAULT!!

I am sending you and She-Ra as much positive energy as I can right now, and here's a hug too!!

She passed away this morning. I went and picked her up. Gonna go bury her under a tree. I am hurting so bad. Thanks for all your help guys. I feel like I have lost a child. I love her so much, and now she is gone.

Oh, that's awful. I'm so sorry. I know how you're feeling and just want you to know we're all thinking of you during this difficult time. Like I said, I'm not familiar with hookworms and just didn't know how quickly they could succumb to that. Our deepest sympathies......

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are sent your way in hopes they will help. Do NOT blame yourself. You did all you could to make her well. You had faiith in your vet, which was apparently mis-placed. Vets are only human and do make mistakes. I am sorry you are the one to have to find this out personally. Hugs to you in your sadness.
