| Milo ate a piece of brie Hi all, Tonight I was cutting a slice of brie off the side of the triangle I got from Trader Joes, the part that is bulging out the side of the triangle where the white mold ends, but he didn't eat the white mold part, and I dropped in on the floor. In a flash Milo had scarfed it up-I mean I couldn't even say leave it, it was that fast. All food,no matter what kind, is like crack to him. He is so fast that there is literally no time to even say LEAVE IT! Sometimes he does leave it, if it's not too tastey a treat. Actually that's not really the point. The question is what I should do now. It literally just happened, so there would be no signs of pancreatitis at this moment. Short of taking him to the ER, anything I can or should do? TIA to all |

| The rind on brie cheese is edible. May cause stomach upset in dogs.

| I wouldn't worry about it. Unless your dog is allergic to cheese (my Bella loves the cheddar cheese I wrap her daily medicine in), the worst you'd have to worry about is a little lactose intolerance. It sounds like a small amount, so there will probably be no effect at all.

| My kid is the same way, if something I am cutting / slicing falls my kid will get it before it hits the floor, and for that reason he is banned from the kitchen. He will sit on the threshold and watch but will not enter the kitchen while I am preparing or cooking. For the safety of Milo's well being he should be taught the out and stay commands.

| Hi kjc, Thanks for getting back. Milo did not eat the rind. Sorry I didn't make that clear. He ate only the white part, the soft cheese only. Today, he does not seem at all ill. No vomiting, or loose bowels so far, and he seems as obsessed with his food addiction as ever LOL. Keeping my fingers crossed |

| I do the same with Zeke. Since he has only been here for two weeks I practice his "stay" while cooking. My kitchen is tiny and there is too much of a possibility of burns from the oven. So, I have him sit on the threshold and then tell him to stay. And, I actually use tiny pieces of cheese as his reward at times. |

| Hmmm, "like a cat" so true at times. I was lucky in that I adopted Zeke as a 9 yr old and he was already fairly well trained. |
