I would switch... my dog has sensitive stomach so I use a special gastro i/d food given by vet along with probiotics ..... she does fine. Hope it works out for you and your fur baby.

Just checking...how is Tulip doing ??

Tulip is doing well. She's always hungry and has gained some of her weight back. We're hoping to begin weaning off steroids next month. Her vet said steroids probably saved her life, but can't be the long term solution.
It is odd that Tulip was healthy every day of her life and the suddenly at age 3 she can't digest her food.

That is what happens....Cookie was always healthy until that one fateful day in 2011...scared the heck out of me. She was on prednisone for a long time...the specialist likes to keep them on low dose every other day. He said that they are easier to get back into remission that way (if they flare). He finally did take her off because her protein levels stayed consistently normal for a long time. She was put back on this year after 3 relapses and will more than likely stay on them...or we have also discussed chemo. (cannot think of the name of the med now). They don't like for prednisone to be the long term solution...you are right about that! Hopefully Tulip will continue to do well and it can be discontinued.
