| trying to calm down Ok so this post is more of me writing to calm my nerves since I don't have anyone to talk to about Boomer. A few weeks ago the vet said to watch how much he drinks and urinates because his CRE was 1.4 mgl. Well the past two days I have been noticing he has been drinking a lot more and definitely peeing more. He even went on the couch which he never did before. We do not go back to the Vet until Nov. to get re-tested. I am going to give it another week and see if he is still peeing more. If so I will take him back to the vet. I just worry so much about him. This his is adoption birthday and I have only had him for a year and I want him as healthy as possible. I have also started him on Methigel Urinary Acifider does anyone know if that can cause a dog to pee more? Ugh! I hate being a worrier. Other than peeing he is his normal self. Not losing weight, eats and plays normally. Which I hope are all good signs.

| Happy Adoption Day to Boomer! Keep a journal of his intake and output until you do the follow up test. Good plan to return sooner if he has more unusual accidents and continues to drink and pee much more than usual. I'm not familiar with Methigel Urinary Acifider. Did your vet recommend using it?

His pee though is usually yellow in the morning and then light to clear the rest of the day so I know he is hydrated. As for the Urinary Acifider, yes my vet recommended it to help with his PH urine levels. He suggested that or a potassium citrate pill. I just hope I am overreacting and it is nothing. I swear I cannot have children because if I worry like this with my dogs I can just imagine how I will be with children.

| Also forgot to mention I now put him in a belly band for night time since I can't trust him to not pee on the furniture.

He may need a special diet... low protein. I am sure the vet will recommend one for you. I added a powdered potassium citrate to Sammy's food... it binds the calcium which is damaging to kidneys. It seams to be early .. more of a "pre" illness so with diet he will have a good recovery... Good luck and praying for good news on next vet visit.

Stay positive and try not to Google too much. I know, easier said than done. Praying that Boomer's follow up tests bring good news.
