| Please - 14 week old yorkie - enlarged liver so, we just picked up our female yorkie puppy from the breeder last monday (11-2-15) she has been energetic and and in good spirits until sunday after noon. she was listless and sleeping non stop. we suspected maybe a sugar issue and gave her some Karo syrup. in 20 minutes she was perki and almost back to normal. she was fine all day Monday until monday evening (yesterday) she is back to being sleepy all the time - but not listless. she wont eat much and has had the runs took her to vet this AM (wife has her there now) she is clean of Parvo, they are giving her another round of de-worming just in case, and they took an x-ray. the x-ray shows an enlarged liver. they are now running labs. why would a 14 week old puppy have an enlarged liver? possible causes? mom and I are freaking out. |

| Contact your breeder IMMEDIATELY, to CYA. Hopefully, you have done your due diligence before purchasing this puppy, and are working with a reputable breeder that will stand by her brand new puppy! I wonder if your breeder did not insist on you taking that baby in to see a vet within 36 hours to verify the health check the breeder provided you with, guaranteeing the baby was in excellent health.....all my new owners have vet appointments within 24-36 hours to activate the health certificate they are provided with when they pick my/their baby up. Any discrepancies between what their vet finds and what my vet said, are addressed immediately by myself, at MY expense..... Depending on what your vet finds, and what your breeder says, as well as the extent of help you should be receiving from your VERY concerned breeder.....after all, that is "HER" baby as well, that is possibly ill.....you may seek the help of specialists or help from a vet school....it may possibly not be anything that serious....wait for the results...........kind of need to see where you are right now with this baby....when you get some kind of diagnosis, then you can formulate a plan of care. But, contact your breeder immediately, so there is no excuse or wiggle room for her to try to wipe her hands clean of this! Wishing you good luck....please keep us posted on what happens! | been in contact with the breeder. She was given a clean bill of health by her vet. we have all that documentation. she didn't insist on us taking her to our vet. to be honest - i never thought of that either. She seems concerned and we are keeping her abreast of the situation. I'll have the labs back in an hour or two. doing research, if she has some sort of liver disease, it sounds like its treatable/manageable. fingers crossed. will keep you posted. we lost our other yorkie a year ago to cancer. she was 9 years old. her xray was lit up like a x-mas tree. we cant go thru this again this is baby "sydney" - taken last night. she looks fine, no temp, gums nice and pink. wet cold nose - still loving - but tired all the time. sleepy all the time |

| vet just called. All liver levels are fine. Kidneys are fine. White count is fine. red blood cells a little low, but that may be due to her size. Barium tests show a small white mass in belly. x-rays reveal its moving. putting all the pieces together, it appears she may have gotten hold of my older dogs "Milk Bone Brushing Chews" there are small chew marks all over it and a piece may have come off and she may be having problems digesting it. My daughter put the bone in her kennel sunday before church and when we got back is when she started acting odd. will keep you posted. the vet said they can see that the blockage has "ridges on it" |

Contact your breeder with the good news! Keep the breeder apraised of anything adverse that goes on with the pup....she will be interested in knowing what is going on with her baby! (She SHOULD be anyway!) | |

| i pick Sydney up ay 4:15 - white spot in belly almost gone. It was NOT the dental bone. who knows what it was. Barium soothes the belly and intestines and helps things to pass. take her back in AM for final Xray i'll post more then the breeder has been VERY supportive and been an active part in all of this. thanks for the comments |
