| So, Sydney is 100x better. She ate the chicken and rice – gobbled it right down. Went poo once. Dr. took another xray this AM and the barium is mostly in the large intestines now and very little in the small intestines. And its continuing to move – so that’s good. Whatever was plugging her up is moving on out ![]() Good news for us. Dr. gave her an antibiotic that will promote good bacteria in the colon to help move things along. Just need to keep our eyes open to make sure she is pooping fine ![]() PS - the liver is NOT enlarged. her stomach and liver were blended together in the x-rays. it was hard to differentiate where the liver stopped and the stomach was. the barium x-rays gave a lot better images. her liver is 100% ok |

| I am glad all is well. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I have had pups that had enlarged livers that ended up being nothing much at all. What one really needs to worry about with the liver is a small liver....very telling of liver disease. Of course it should be followed up on....in the future honestly, I would suggest something like that go to a board certified internist rather than running a zillion tests. They probably would have had a radiologist check that xray and found that it was not an issue at all. I had one not so long ago that my vet scared the heck out of me...he showed the xray to his partners and they all said it was cancer. I went straight to the specialist that day......he did not have cancer and is fine now! I think there is a thread about it somewhere on this forum...I need to look for it. I love my vets but with things like this, I always head for the specialist.
