| sick puppy again So my little Piper is 16 weeks old. I have had for a month now. Last week she started vomiting and having bloody diarrhea. I took her to the vet immediately and they did xrays, blood work and tested for parvo and a few other things. They did not find anything so they put her on prescription wet dog food for 5 days and some meds. Today we put her back on her dry dog food (blue buffalo) within 5 hrs she was back to bloody diarrhea. Back to the vet we went and we are doing another 5 days of prescription wet food and meds then we will slowly transition her back to her dry food. Has anyone else delt with a similar situation? Vet said she may just have a sensitive stomach and need to stay on the prescription dog food permanently. I hate seeing my furbabies not feeling well. I feel so helpless. |

| Piper I am sorry your little Piper is not feeling good. If the vet could not find any reason for her GI issues and she gets better on the prescription food then why not keep her on that? If she was on the canned from the vet, you might try mixing the kibble prescription formula with the canned, gradually, and finally just on the prescriptions kibble. BB food could be too rich for her sensitive stomach. My neighbor had a dog with Piper's symptoms and situation and after feeding the Hills Prescription ID canned plus the same type of kibble, her dog did fine. I know we would prefer to feed what we think is a better quality food than the Prescription, but I for one have found that keeping my Pacreatitis prone dog on the Prescription Hills ID has kept him well. I do add a little home cooked low fat chicken breast to the kibble to make it more tasty. Good luck and I hope Piper feels better soon. |

| I would attempt a different dog food when you transition her. Winnie was on Blue when I brought her home and had horrible diarrhea from it. She had an underlying intestinal infection (the vet believed too much protein in blue) which continued onto other issues. She has been on Natures variety since and has had no issues.

| Chickemsmith I was thinking the same thing. I am researching to see if I can find something suitable for all three of my dogs if possible. I work 12 hrs shifts so on my work days I need to find something I can leave down during the day. |

| Sick dog If you have three dogs that you wish to feed with the same food , it is a different matter. Hoping you are able to find a good kibble that suits all of your babies. I agree that BB has not been good for some dogs, probably as it is too rich in fat? Happy kibble hunting |

| I'm sorry your baby is sick. I suspect the Blue might be causing her issues. I home cook for my little girl, but she doesn't eat before I go to work. Just in case she's hungry, I leave her some kibble. I presently am using Nature's Logic, but it may be too high a protein level for Piper. I also really like Fromm, a company that has been around for over 100 years and never has had a recall. They have puppy food, but they also have food that is all life stages, which would be good for all of your dogs. I order from chewy.com. They are an excellent company, and I don't think it's ever taken more than two days. Shipping is free for a $49 purchase; otherwise it's only $4.99. They take returns without a problem, usually just asking you to donate the item to an animal shelter. I buy Katie's toys there, too, and their prices are excellent. I would also be suspicious of this particular bag of food - make sure you keep the lot #, just in case something is wrong here. Maybe start a new bag?

| Wylie's mom, she was on royal canine. Was not really eating it, so we switched her to blue buffalo about a week after we got her. I mixed the 2 together but she would leave the royal canine in her bowl. My other yorkie won't eat royal either. I will keep the lot number I hadn't thought about that. She had been eating it for about 3 weeks before we started having issues. I keep hearing that maybe it has to much protein or fat. My vet doesn't want to switch quite yet if when we transition her back to the blue buffalo and it happens again then we will. There are so many options I don't know which one to try next. |

| Wellness is a great food. I have had Mickey on it for over a year, he is 16 months now, and he has had no problems. Just a thought.
